Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Huron DX 200-4 B that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Combine 400 mm (15.7 in) of turning length with a 52 mm bar capacity and you get the Huron DX 200-4 B. It is a slant-bed CNC turning centre with an A2-6 spindle, a 70 mm bore and an 8-station servo turret.
Among the short DX 200 models this is the most versatile specification. The bore is big enough for common bar sizes, the Z travel covers parts well beyond cut-off length, and the 320 mm maximum turning diameter allows chuck work on blanks and castings. One machine can therefore alternate between bar jobs and chucking jobs without being the wrong size for either.
The Siemens spindle motor is listed at 13.5/9 kW and the Fanuc motor at 11/7.5 kW, both over a 50-4,000 rpm range. Cross travel is 175 mm and rapid feed 24 m/min. Tailstock thrust is adjustable to 300 kgf on an 85 mm quill.
Huron's feature list for the DX 200 series covers hydraulic chucking, an automatic and manual coolant system, centralised programmable lubrication and an air-conditioned electrical panel. Tool change is quoted at 0.5 sec. The DX 200-4 B weighs 3,100 kg (6,834 lb), the same as the shorter DX 200-3 B, and shares its 2,150 x 1,440 x 1,770 mm envelope. Positioning is 0.007 mm.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Maximum bar capacity is 52 mm through a 70 mm spindle bore. Huron marks the bar capacity row with a note, so confirm it against the chuck and draw tube specified.
02
A2-6 nose, 50-4,000 rpm, with 13.5/9 kW for the Siemens motor and 11/7.5 kW for the Fanuc motor. Cross travel is 175 mm and rapid feed 24 m/min.
03
Maximum turning length and Z travel are both 400 mm. For longer work with the same spindle size, the DX 200-5 A offers 500 mm and the DX 200-7 A 700 mm.
04
About 2,150 mm long, 1,440 mm wide and 1,770 mm high, at about 3,100 kg (6,834 lb). Huron lists three-point levelling among the features.
