Overview
The Huron AX MY 300 is the large-frame AX with Y-axis milling. It joins a 36 kW, 385 Nm turning spindle to a 12-station live turret that travels ± 50 mm in Y, and it keeps a tailstock for long work.
This is the version for parts that are heavy to turn and also carry real milling content. Capacity is 420 mm (16.5 in) in diameter and 600 mm in length over a 650 mm swing. Bar capacity is 65 mm through an A2-8 spindle with a 75 mm bore. On the tool side, BMT 55 holders give the driven tools a stiffer mounting than the BMT 45 of the 200 size, which helps when an end mill is cutting a slot in steel.
The Y stroke of ± 50 mm covers flats and keyways on most of the diameters the machine can turn. Driven tools reach 4,000 rpm, the same ceiling as the main spindle. X and Y traverse at 24 m/min and Z at 30 m/min.
Tailstock data are MT 4, 130 mm quill diameter, 620 mm travel and 500 daN thrust. Positioning is 0.005 mm and repeatability 0.003 mm on X and Z. Huron's feature list adds hydraulic chucking and a monoblock base. Width and depth with doors open and conveyor are 4,225 and 4,220 mm.
