Overview
The Huron DX 500-2000 B turns parts up to 2,000 mm (78.7 in) long and 800 mm in diameter with an A2-11 spindle of 110 mm bore. It is the mid-powered version of the two-metre DX Large lathe, rated 26/22 kW on Fanuc and 33/22 kW on Siemens.
Heavy shafts with large journals, hydraulic cylinder barrels and long couplings are the intended parts. A 90 mm bar or tube passes through the headstock, and the 50-1,500 rpm range matches the diameters such parts have. Machine weight is 12,500 kg (27,557 lb).
