Price estimate
We do not have a price for the HSG R2 PRO that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The HSG R2 PRO is the fast version of HSG's medium tube laser. The tube envelope is unchanged from the R2, Φ12-240 mm (0.5-9.4 in) round, 12 × 12 to 240 × 240 mm square and 12-240 mm rectangular, but the motion figures move up to 150 m/min linkage speed, 1.5 G acceleration and 140 r/min of chuck rotation. The low-pass filter is listed at 7 Hz and laser power at 3,000-6,000 W.
HSG's argument for the machine is that a medium tube laser normally gives away speed on small sections, and this one is meant not to. It claims a 25% efficiency gain. Read that as the maker's figure; what the table does show is 150 m/min here against 120 m/min for the HSG R2.
Tube length is 1,000-6,500 mm (39.4-255.9 in). A buyer who stocks longer material should look at the R2-90 PRO, whose range is 1,000-9,000 mm on otherwise identical figures.
Accuracy on imperfect tube is handled by an option. Dual-Scan dynamic correction tracks the contour and adjusts the path, and HSG quotes ±0.1mm on extruded tube and ±0.2mm on irregular tube with it. Bevel cutting within ±45°, short tailings cutting and the WindTech-Loading System are options as well. The loader has its own limits: Φ20-220mm round tube, 4000mm-6500mm lengths on this model and 300kg per tube.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 150 m/min linkage speed and 1.5 G acceleration on a machine that still takes 240 mm (9.4 in) tube
- Chuck rotation of 140 r/min, against 120 r/min on the HSG R2
- Rectangular tube from 12 to 240 mm is listed as its own capacity row
- Optional Dual-Scan dynamic correction, with ±0.1mm quoted on extruded tube and ±0.2mm on irregular tube
- Optional bevel cutting within a ±45° range for weld preparation
Limitations
- Tube length ends at 6,500 mm (255.9 in); the R2-90 PRO goes to 9,000 mm
- Dual-Scan correction, bevel cutting, short tailings cutting and the WindTech-Loading System are all options
- The WindTech loader is limited to Φ20-220mm round tube, narrower than the Φ12-240 mm the machine itself cuts
- The table gives no positioning accuracy figure for the base machine

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Tube length. The R2 PRO takes material from 1,000 to 6,500 mm (39.4-255.9 in) and the R2-90 PRO from 1,000 to 9,000 mm. Power, tube sizes, the 150 m/min linkage speed, 1.5 G acceleration and 140 r/min rotation speed are the same in HSG's table.
02
The table lists a maximum linkage speed of 150 m/min, a maximum acceleration of 1.5 G and a maximum rotation speed of 140 r/min, with a 7 Hz low-pass filter. HSG claims this improves efficiency by 25%; the table itself does not give a comparison.
03
Round tube from Φ12 to 240 mm (0.5-9.4 in), square tube from 12 × 12 to 240 × 240 mm and rectangular tube from 12 to 240 mm. Laser power is 3,000-6,000 W. HSG does not state a maximum tube weight in the table for the machine itself.
04
It is an option that works with the zero-remnant cutting function. HSG gives its capacity as Φ20-220mm round tube or 20-220mm side length for rectangular tube, a tube length range of 4000mm-6500mm on the R2 PRO, and a maximum single tube weight of 300kg.
