Price estimate
We do not have a price for the HSG T2 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Three chucks are what define the HSG T2: two at the front and one at the rear, where most tube lasers in this size have one of each. It cuts round tube from Φ20 to 240 mm (9.4 in) and square tube up to 240 × 240 mm, in lengths of 1,000-7,000 mm (39.4-275.6 in), on 3,000-6,000 W of laser power.
The extra chuck does two jobs. HSG says the two-front, one-rear layout is there to carry more load, and the third chuck, which it calls C3, is hollow so that a complete tube can pass through it for blanking. Because the chucks travel, the tube can be repositioned to cut close to its end, which is how the machine gets short tailings. For a shop cutting expensive stainless or thick-wall tube, the remnant left on every bar is a real part of the material bill.
Speed is not the selling point. The brochure gives 100 m/min maximum linkage speed and 1 G linkage acceleration, below the two-chuck HSG R2 at 120 m/min. Positioning accuracy, on the other hand, is ±0.03 mm/m, the tighter of the two figures HSG uses across its tube range.
Servo follow-up supports sit at both the loading and the unloading position, and the brochure counts 8 of them on the T series. A single tube can weigh 300 kg (661 lb). Automatic loading and a 3D cutting head are options.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Three-chuck layout, two front and one rear, for short-tailing cutting and more load
- Hollow C3 chuck allows blanking of the complete tube
- X/Y positioning accuracy of ±0.03 mm/m
- Takes tube up to 7,000 mm (275.6 in) long, against 6,500 mm for the HSG R2
- Independent servo follow-up support at both the loading and unloading positions
Limitations
- Maximum linkage speed of 100 m/min and 1 G acceleration are lower than the two-chuck HSG R2 at 120 m/min
- Smallest round tube is Φ20 mm (0.8 in), so finer tube needs another machine
- Single tube weight is limited to 300 kg (661 lb) despite the third chuck
- Automatic loading and the 3D cutting head are options

Frequently Asked Questions
01
HSG places two chucks at the front and one at the rear to carry more load, and makes the third chuck, C3, hollow so a complete tube can be blanked through it. The moving chucks also let the machine cut close to the end of the bar, which HSG calls short-tailing cutting.
02
Round tube from Φ20 to Φ240 mm (0.8-9.4 in) and square tube from 20 × 20 to 240 × 240 mm. The brochure gives the range of tube material as 1,000-7,000 mm (39.4-275.6 in) and the weight of a single tube as 300 kg (661 lb).
03
The brochure lists a maximum linkage speed of 100 m/min and a maximum linkage acceleration of 1 G. The product page gives X/Y-axis positioning accuracy as ±0.03 mm/m. Laser power is offered from 3,000 to 6,000 W.
04
It is optional. HSG describes a multi-functional loading support construction for automatic loading of round tubes, rectangular tubes and section steel. A 3D cutting head is also listed as optional; the servo follow-up supports are part of the machine.
