How much does the HNK HFB-250 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the HNK HFB-250 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The HNK HFB-250 carries the largest boring spindle HNK lists: Ø250 mm (9.8 in), on a floor-type machine whose rotary table measures 5,000 x 9,000 mm (196.9 x 354.3 in). It tops the HFB series.
Reach is the headline. Ram travel is 1,800 mm (70.9 in), with 2,000 mm (78.7 in) in braces, and the spindle travels a further 1,600 mm (63.0 in) in W. The Z and W total is 3,400 mm (133.9 in). Unlike the smaller models, the W and total rows carry no braced alternative here; the figures stand alone. With that stroke the spindle can bore through the full depth of a large engine frame or reach the far wall of a deep casing from one side.
Vertical travel is 4,000 ~ 8,000 mm (157.5 ~ 315.0 in) and column travel 4,000 ~ 30,000 mm (157.5 ~ 1,181.1 in), both matched by the HFB-200. The table load is also the same at 100,000 kg (220,459 lb), with 150,000 kg (330,688 lb) in braces, but the table is half as long again, so it suits long parts more than heavier ones.
Spindle speed is 5 to 1,500 rpm and the taper ISO 60 [50 Adaptor]. As for the whole HFB series, HNK cites a stabilized ram extension design against thermal elongation and ram bending, and publishes no spindle power. Fanuc 31i-B and Siemens 840D are listed.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
HNK lists 1,800 mm (70.9 in) of ram travel, 1,600 mm (63.0 in) of spindle travel and a Z and W total of 3,400 mm (133.9 in). A ram travel of 2,000 mm (78.7 in) appears in braces.
02
Not in load: both list 100,000 kg (220,459 lb), with 150,000 kg (330,688 lb) in braces. The HFB-250 table is larger, 5,000 x 9,000 mm (196.9 x 354.3 in) against the 5,000 x 6,000 mm (196.9 x 236.2 in) of the HFB-200.
03
Column travel (X) is 4,000 ~ 30,000 mm (157.5 ~ 1,181.1 in) and spindle head vertical travel (Y) 4,000 ~ 8,000 mm (157.5 ~ 315.0 in). Both are ranges, fixed when the bed length and column height are ordered.
04
The taper row reads ISO 60 [50 Adaptor], which indicates a 50-taper adaptor for the ISO 60 spindle. Check with HNK which adaptor is supplied and what it does to tool overhang.
