Overview
At eight metres the Aero 5X changes its X drive, and the Hartford Aero-836G-5X is the first model on the far side of that line. X travel is 8,000 mm (315.0 in), Y travel 3,600 mm (141.7 in), and the table measures 8,000 x 3,100 mm (315.0 x 122.0 in).
Hartford states that rack and pinion drive on the X axis is limited to axes of 8 meters and more, and credits it with no backlash, low noise, improved positioning accuracy and a feed rate up to 50 m/min. That is the only feed figure on the page, and for a gantry that has eight metres to cover between features it is a useful one.
This is also one of two Aero 5X tables with a detailed power row. The standard motor is 34/43 kW, continuous and 30 min, and the options are 21/27, 40/51, 42/53 and 60/80 kW. Spindles are HSK-A63 at 24,000 rpm and HSK-A100 at 12,000 rpm.
