Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Hartford Aero-432BL-5X that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Hartford Aero-432BL-5X is a four-metre gantry type 5-axis machining center. X travel is 4,000 mm (157.5 in), Y travel 3,200 mm (126.0 in), and the table measures 4,000 x 2,700 mm (157.5 x 106.3 in). Z travel is 1,100 mm, with 1,300 mm optional.
Hartford offers two X drives on the Aero 5X and assigns them by length. The linear motor is limited to X axes of up to 6 meters; rack and pinion is limited to X axes of 8 meters and more. At four metres this model is in the linear motor group, as the L in its name indicates. The Y axis has three linear guideways and a linear motor design as well.
The spindle is built-in. The table lists 24,000 rpm for HSK-A63 and 12,000 rpm for HSK-A100, with 37 kW against the first and 43 kW against the second. It is carried by a 5 axis head from Cytec, made in Germany, and the maximum torque output of the B and C axes is stated as 1,000 Nm.
On the same table Hartford sells the 5-faced Aero-432B, which has a #50 gear head at 6,000 rpm. The two are different tools: the 432B for heavy cuts in steel on five faces, the 432BL-5X for fast contouring of aluminium and for surfaces that need the head to move while cutting.
