Overview
The Haas VM-11 is a 120 in (3,048 mm) mold machine with more Y travel than table: 40 in (1,016 mm) of Y over a table 28 in (711 mm) wide. X travel matches the table length at 120 in, Z is 30 in (762 mm), and the spindle is a 30 hp (22.4 kW), 12,000 rpm inline direct-drive 40-taper.
That Y figure is the whole difference from the VM-10, which has the same 120 × 28 in (3,048 × 711 mm) table and 32 in (813 mm) of Y. With 40 in of stroke across a 28 in table, the spindle can work on plates and fixture sub-plates that overhang the table edges, or get to both sides of a tall fixture without the part being re-clamped. Check how an overhanging part is supported before counting on it, because the 4,000 lb (1,814 kg) table load applies to everything the table carries.
X and Y thrust are both 4,100 lbf (18,238 N), with 5,600 lbf (24,910 N) on Z.
