The Haas VF-6/50 is the 50-taper version of the large-frame VF-6, combining 1,626 x 813 x 762 mm (64 x 32 x 30 in) of travel with the heavy-duty cutting capability of a CAT 50 spindle. When the standard 40-taper VF-6 does not have enough torque and rigidity for aggressive steel and cast iron roughing, the /50 variant delivers the answer.

The 29.8 kW (40 hp) geared-head spindle runs at 7,500 RPM with a two-speed gearbox option that delivers massive torque for face milling and heavy roughing operations. The CAT 50 taper provides the clamping force and rigidity for large-diameter face mills, boring bars, and shell mills. This is the spindle that lets you run 4-inch face mills at aggressive feeds without chatter.

The table measures 1,829 x 660 mm (72 x 26 in) with five T-slots on 125 mm centers and a 2,041 kg (4,500 lb) load capacity.
