Fidia BSE 2200 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Fidia BSE 2200 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Fidia or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The Fidia BSE 2200 is the largest of Fidia's BSE bridge-type high-speed machining centres. X travel is 2,200 mm (86.6 in), Y is 1,750 mm (68.9 in) and Z is 750 mm (29.5 in); the 2,100 x 1,600 mm (82.7 x 63.0 in) table is rated for 6,000 kg (13,228 lb).

Y is where it departs from its smaller sibling. The BSE 1700 has 1,000 mm (39.4 in) of Y under the same bridge; here the full 1,750 mm (68.9 in) between the columns is usable travel, and the table load doubles as well. The price of moving a table of this size is in the X axis, which feeds at 24 m/min against 30 m/min for Y and Z.

Thermal control gets specific attention on this size. The screw nuts are air-oil cooled, the spindle is water cooled, and the ballscrew mounting brackets are cast into the bridge base and saddle. The ballscrews are 63 / 55 / 50 mm in diameter. Stated accuracy to VDI 3441 is P = 0.012 mm and PS = 0.008 mm, with linear scales in the basic machine.

The spindle is the 18,000 rpm HSK 63A motor spindle with 26/32 kW, 124/154 Nm, with 24,000 rpm optional. Tools are limited to 80 mm / 250 mm and 7 kg in a 24-position changer, with 32 / 40 / 60 optional. For heavier cutters and higher torque on a bridge machine, the BHE is the alternative, with 956 Nm.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 1,750 mm (68.9 in) of Y travel, the full distance between the columns
  • Table of 2,100 x 1,600 mm (82.7 x 63.0 in) for 6,000 kg (13,228 lb)
  • Air-oil cooled screw nuts and a water cooled spindle
  • Ballscrew mounting brackets integrated in the bridge base and saddle castings
  • 18,000 rpm HSK 63A spindle, with 24,000 rpm optional

Limitations

  • X feeds at 24 m/min, slower than the 30 / 30 / 30 m/min of the BSE 1700
  • Z travel of 750 mm (29.5 in) is the same as on the smaller size
  • Tools are limited to 80 mm / 250 mm and 7 kg on HSK 63A
  • Spindle torque of 124/154 Nm suits high-speed cutting, not heavy roughing
06

Best For

Large moulds and dies up to 6,000 kg (13,228 lb) in high-speed milling Wide parts that need 1,750 mm (68.9 in) of Y travel Long finishing cycles where cooled screws and spindle help hold size

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is the capacity of the Fidia BSE 2200?

Travels are 2,200 mm (86.6 in) in X, 1,750 mm (68.9 in) in Y and 750 mm (29.5 in) in Z. The table is 2,100 x 1,600 mm (82.7 x 63.0 in) and the maximum loading is 6,000 kg (13,228 lb).

02 How does the BSE 2200 differ from the BSE 1700?

It has more X and much more Y: the BSE 1700 lists 1,750 mm (68.9 in) of X and 1,000 mm (39.4 in) of Y with a 3,000 kg (6,614 lb) table load. Z travel, the distance between columns and the spindle are the same on both.

03 How is heat controlled on the BSE 2200?

Fidia states that the screw nuts are air-oil cooled to draw away heat from high speed movements and that the spindle is water cooled to control thermal effects. The ballscrews are precision class C3 and linear scales are in the basic machine.

04 What spindle does the BSE 2200 use?

A built-in motor spindle at 18,000 rpm on an HSK 63A cone with 26/32 kW, 124/154 Nm. A 24,000 rpm HSK 63A unit with 21/27 kW and 85/116 Nm is listed among the main options, as is coolant through the spindle.
