Overview
The Fidia BSE 1700 is a 3-axis bridge-type high-speed machining centre with a fixed twin-column bridge and a moving table. Travels are 1,750 mm (68.9 in) in X, 1,000 mm (39.4 in) in Y and 750 mm (29.5 in) in Z, over a 1,600 x 1,000 mm (63.0 x 39.4 in) table that carries 3,000 kg (6,614 lb).
The distance between the columns is 1,750 mm (68.9 in), far wider than the Y travel. Fidia makes the point that this eases the mounting of large workpieces and fixtures, and that the high column helps with tall parts and long cutting tools.
