Overview

In the Feeler SVW-3225 a 3,000 × 2,000 mm (118.1 × 78.7 in) table is combined with 3,200 mm (126.0 in) of X travel and a 12 ton rating, in the widest group of the SVW series.

A point to settle early: on the rows this page carries, the SVW-3225 and the SVW-3223 are identical. Same table, same X, same load, same rapids. What separates the 23 and 25 groups is the cross travel, and the Y-axis figure is not listed here. Before comparing quotations, get both Y strokes and the clearance between columns from the maker; a part with clamps overhanging the table edge may fit one and not the other.

For heavy cutting, Feeler points to the structure and the spindle. The body is box-type with reinforced ribs. The spindle has a fully geared internal transmission and a two-speed gearbox, 6,000 rpm on a BT/DIN/CAT 50 taper. A wide gantry carries its spindle head on a long crossrail, so rigidity claims deserve to be tested with a cutting trial on the buyer's own material, particularly with the head near mid-span.

X rapid is 12 m/min (472 ipm); Y and Z are 15 m/min (591 ipm). The bracketed spindle alternative is 8,000-15,000 rpm with #40, Z travel is 800 mm (31.5 in) or 1,000 mm (39.4 in), and the magazine row reads 24 (32/40/60).

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 3,000 × 2,000 mm (118.1 × 78.7 in) table rated at 12 ton
  • Two-speed geared spindle, 6,000 rpm on a 50 taper
  • Y and Z rapids of 15 m/min (591 ipm) on a wide machine
  • Automatic attachment change system available as an option

Limitations

  • Listed rows are identical to the SVW-3223, so the Y travel must be obtained to tell them apart
  • X rapid of 12 m/min (472 ipm), against 15 m/min on the SVW-2825
  • No power, torque or machine weight published

Best For

Wide heavy plates and frames up to 12 ton Large mould plates and fixture bases around 3,000 × 2,000 mm Heavy roughing in steel with large 50-taper cutters

Frequently Asked Questions

01 Is the SVW-3225 the same as the SVW-3223?

Not the same model, but the rows on this page match: 3,200 mm of X travel, a 3,000 × 2,000 mm table, 12 ton, and identical rapids, spindle and magazine. The Y-axis travel is what differs, and it is not listed here.

02 How heavy a workpiece can it take?

12 ton including fixtures. The shorter SVW-2825 is rated at 11 ton and the longer SVW-4225 at 15 ton, all three on tables 2,000 mm wide.

03 What does Feeler claim about rigidity?

The series heading is Heavy Cutting Machines with Exceptional Rigidity. Feeler cites a box-type structure with reinforced rib design and a full-travel supported table that eliminates overhang. No stiffness or accuracy figures are published to quantify it.

04 What are the spindle and tool options?

Listed: 6,000 rpm, BT/DIN/CAT 50, 24 tools. Bracketed alternatives: 8,000-15,000 rpm, #40, and magazines of 32, 40 or 60 tools. The table does not say which combinations can be ordered together.
