Overview
The Citizen Miyano VC03 is an ultra-compact, autoloaded precision CNC turning machine for high-speed production of very small parts up to 40mm diameter. It operates as a precision gang-tool lathe with integrated autoloading, purpose-built for the smallest end of the production turning spectrum.
The 8,000 RPM spindle delivers 3.7/2.2 kW power with a 2-axis (X, Z) configuration and horizontal linear tool platen accommodating up to 5 tools. Rapid traverse rates of 20 m/min (X) and 30 m/min (Z) minimize non-cutting time.
A key differentiator is Citizen Low Frequency Vibration (LFV) cutting technology, providing active chip-breaking through controlled oscillation. LFV is particularly valuable on small parts where conventional chip-breaking inserts may not exist.
The autoloading system handles workpieces up to 40mm diameter and 40mm length, enabling true lights-out production. The footprint of just 700 x 1,683mm is among the smallest of any CNC production machine.
The VC03 targets ultra-high-precision, ultra-high-volume production of the smallest chucked parts: watch components, miniature connectors, medical micro-components, and precision instrument parts.
