Overview

The Feeler SVW-2217 opens the 1,400 mm (55.1 in) table width in the SVW series. Its table is 2,000 mm (78.7 in) long, X travel is 2,200 mm (86.6 in), and the load rating is 8 ton.

The SVW-2113 has the same table length and carries 4 ton; this one carries double. The rapids go the other way: 15 m/min (591 ipm) on all three axes here, against 24 m/min on X and Y for the SVW-2113. So the step from the 13 to the 17 group is a step from a quick machine for plates to a heavier one for blocks, and the choice should follow the weight and section of the parts rather than their length.

More tools become available too. The magazine row reads 24 (32/40/60), and the 60-tool option does not exist on the narrower table. For multi-face work on prismatic parts, where roughing and finishing cutters for several faces stay loaded, the larger magazines earn their place. Feeler also offers an optional automatic attachment change system for the series.

Spindle and Z rows are common to the series: 6,000 rpm on a BT/DIN/CAT 50 taper through a two-speed geared drive, with 8,000-15,000 rpm and #40 in brackets, and 800 mm (31.5 in) of Z travel with 1,000 mm (39.4 in) bracketed.

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is the difference between the SVW-2217 and the SVW-2113?

Both tables are 2,000 mm long. The SVW-2217 is 1,400 mm wide and rated for 8 ton with 15 m/min rapids; the SVW-2113 is 1,100 mm wide and rated for 4 ton with 24 m/min on X and Y. The SVW-2217 also lists a 60-tool magazine option.

02 How many tools can the magazine hold?

24 as listed, with bracketed alternatives of 32, 40 or 60. The 60-tool figure appears from this width class upward; the narrower SVW-2113 stops at 40.

03 What Z travel is available?

800 mm (31.5 in), with 1,000 mm (39.4 in) in brackets as the taller alternative. Z rapid traverse is 15 m/min (591 ipm). The clearance under the spindle nose is not given in the series table.

04 Is this a heavy-cutting machine?

That is how Feeler presents it. The series heading reads Heavy Cutting Machines with Exceptional Rigidity, and the spindle uses a fully geared internal transmission with a two-speed gearbox for high-torque output at low speed. No torque figure is published.
