Overview
The DMG MORI DMV 145 is a 3-axis vertical machining center with a fixed table and an elevated X-slide, offering 1,450 mm (57.1 in) of X travel, 700 mm (27.6 in) of Y and 550 mm (21.7 in) of Z for workpieces up to 2,000 kg (4,409.2 lb). Its Highlights spell out the tooling side in detail: four tool interfaces, magazines from 20 to 120 pockets and three spindles.
The basic version has a speedMASTER spindle with 20,000 rpm. Two options go the other way. A High-Torque spindle runs at 15,000 rpm, and a motorspindle in SK50 / HSK-A100 runs at 10,000 rpm with 303 Nm. That last option changes the character of the machine. With the larger interface and 303 Nm it becomes a roughing machine for steel and cast iron, where the basic 20,000 rpm spindle is a tool for finishing and light alloys.
The basic tool magazine is a disk type with 20 pockets and a double gripper. Optional magazines exist for SK40, SK50, HSK A63 and HSK 100 with 20, 30, 40, 60 or 120 pockets, the 40-pocket size being for SK50 / HSK A100 only. Tools are loaded from the front, in parallel with machining time, so the magazine can be replenished without stopping the spindle.
Loading is planned for heavy parts and for automation. The cabin roof has a large opening for a crane, and an automation door at the side measures 30.9 x 42.2 in. The largest workpiece is 1,760 × 700 × 550 mm (69.3 × 27.6 × 21.7 in).
Guideways and ball screw nuts are cooled, and direct path measuring systems are included in the basic machine. The DMV 200 keeps the same Y and Z and extends X to 2,000 mm (78.7 in).
