Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Danobat WT-92 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Six bed lengths are listed for the Danobat WT-92, from 3,000 mm (118 in) to 8,000 mm (315 in) of grinding length in steps of a metre. No other machine in Danobat's cylindrical range covers as wide a span under one model name. Throughout, the weight between centers is 5,000 kg (11,023 lb) and the ground diameter Ø840 or Ø1,040 mm (Ø33.1 or Ø41 in).
The WT-92 is the middle of the three WT cross-slide grinders. In diameter and weight it equals the HG-92. Past 5,000 mm (196 in) of length, though, it is the only 5,000 kg option, because the HG-92 ends there.
Wheel choice is the widest in the series: Ø760, Ø915, Ø1,060 or Ø1,250 mm. As elsewhere the largest is marked not available with the B-axis, so a machine ordered for the Ø1,250 mm wheel is a straight or angular plunge machine, and one ordered with a swivelling head works with the smaller wheels. Wheelhead power is 30, 45 or 60 kW (40.2, 60.3 or 80.4 hp). The peripheral speed row reads 60 / 120 m/s (11,811 / 23,622 sfpm).
Measuring matters on a part that takes hours to load and align. The MDM multi-diameter gauge is listed with ranges of 400, 600 or 800 mm (15.7, 23.6 or 31.5 in), and Danobat states dimensional tolerances guaranteed from the first part at IT3 up to diameter 80 mm and IT2 beyond. Hydrostatic V and flat slideways carry both the X and Z axes. The swivelling B axis, where fitted, is driven by a torque motor with mechanical locking and repeats to ±1 µm on a 650 mm (25.6 in) radius.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Grinding lengths from 3,000 to 8,000 mm (118 to 315 in) in six steps
- 5,000 kg (11,023 lb) between centers at every length
- Wheels up to Ø1,250 mm, the largest diameter listed for a 5,000 kg machine
- MDM measuring range up to 800 mm (31.5 in)
- Hydrostatic slideways on X and Z, with an oil layer that Danobat says keeps stiffness constant
Limitations
- The Ø1,250 mm wheel excludes the swivelling B-axis
- Ground diameter stops at Ø1,040 mm (Ø41 in); the WT-100 is needed for anything larger
- Wheelhead power is no higher than on the WT-72, at 30, 45 or 60 kW (40.2, 60.3 or 80.4 hp)
- At 7,000 or 8,000 mm (275 or 315 in) the 5,000 kg (11,023 lb) limit restricts solid shafts to modest diameters

5,000 kg (11,023 lb), a single figure for all versions. The WT-72 is rated 1,500 or 2,500 kg (3,307 or 5,511 lb) and the WT-100 is rated 8,000 kg (17,636 lb).
03
When the part is longer than 5,000 mm (196 in), or when floor length is short. The HG-92 has the same Ø840 or Ø1,040 mm (Ø33.1 or Ø41 in) diameters and the same 5,000 kg (11,023 lb) rating. The WT-92 adds lengths to 8,000 mm (315 in), a Ø1,250 mm wheel and hydrostatic ways on both axes in a cross-slide layout.
04
The table marks the Ø1,250 mm wheel as not available with the B-axis. With a swivelling B axis the choices are Ø760, Ø915 or Ø1,060 mm. Wheel head configurations are described as straight (S), angular (A) or a full swivelling B axis that can hold several configurations.
