CHMER RQ4025L — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the CHMER RQ4025L that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from CHMER or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

Between the two smallest RQ machines the only change in travel is X: the CHMER RQ4025L wire EDM has 400 mm (15.7 in) where the RQ3625L has 360 mm (14.2 in). Y stays at 250 mm (9.8 in) and Z at 200 mm (7.9 in). The outside dimensions are identical too, 2,400 x 2,500 x 2,250 mm (94.5 x 98.4 x 88.6 in), so the longer X costs no floor space.

What does change is capacity. The RQ4025L is rated for a 550 kg (1,213 lb) workpiece and the size row grows in width to 750 x 450 x 200 mm / 750 x 450 x 145 mm. Machine weight rises only slightly, to 2,800 kg (6,173 lb). For long, narrow work such as strip-die sections, this is the better fit of the two.

As on every RQ model, the X and Y axes are driven by linear motors and U, V and Z by AC servo motors. Feed rate reaches 1,800 mm/min (70.9 ipm). CHMER describes the series as a rigid gantry structure combined with UX1 linear motors, AWT and the i8+ power supply. The taper rating is ±14.5°/80 and U and V travel is 60 x 60 mm (2.4 x 2.4 in).

Wire from 0.15 to 0.3 mm is supported, 0.25 mm being standard, with feed up to 300 mm/sec. CHMER states tank capacity as 930 kg.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 400 mm (15.7 in) of X travel in the same 2,400 x 2,500 mm footprint as the RQ3625L
  • 550 kg (1,213 lb) maximum workpiece weight
  • X and Y linear motors with feed up to 1,800 mm/min (70.9 ipm)
  • Rigid gantry structure with the i8+ power supply, as CHMER describes the series

Limitations

  • Y travel is only 250 mm (9.8 in), so wide plates need the RQ5030L or RQ6040L
  • Z travel of 200 mm (7.9 in) and a ±14.5°/80 taper rating
  • Standard accessory list names one water chiller; no option list is published on the page

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How does the RQ4025L differ from the RQ3625L?

X travel is 400 mm (15.7 in) against 360 mm (14.2 in) on the RQ3625L, and the workpiece rating is 550 kg (1,213 lb) against 450 kg (992 lb). Y travel, Z travel, the taper rating and the outside dimensions of 2,400 x 2,500 x 2,250 mm are the same on both.

02 What are the travels of the RQ4025L?

X 400 mm (15.7 in), Y 250 mm (9.8 in) and Z 200 mm (7.9 in). The U and V axes travel 60 x 60 mm (2.4 x 2.4 in), which gives a taper rating of ±14.5°/80 with the wide-angled nozzle.

03 What drives the axes of the RQ4025L?

Linear motors on X and Y, AC servo motors on U, V and Z. CHMER names the linear motors UX1 and says they are made in-house. The X Y feed rate is a maximum of 1,800 mm/min (70.9 ipm).

04 What comes as standard with the RQ4025L?

The standard accessory list names paper filters, a TFT, flushing nozzles, 0.26MM diamond guides, energizing carbides, a diamond guide remove jig, brass wire, a water chiller, AC/DC power, an OV circuit and ion exchange resins. CHMER's series description also mentions AWT.
