CHMER G32S — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the CHMER G32S that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from CHMER or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The CHMER G32S is the smallest wire EDM in the G series, with 360 x 250 mm (14.2 x 9.8 in) of X and Y travel and 220 mm (8.7 in) of Z. CHMER's table gives the largest workpiece as 725 x 560 x 215 mm and 300 kg (661 lb), so the tank takes a block considerably larger than the area the wire can reach in one setup.

All axes are driven by AC servo motors and the X Y feed rate tops out at 800 mm/min (31.5 ipm). The U and V axes travel 60 x 60 mm (2.4 x 2.4 in), and the taper row reads ±14.5°/80 with a wide-angled nozzle. That is the narrower of the two taper ratings in the series: the G64S is listed at ±21°/100. Wire from 0.15 to 0.3 mm runs on the machine, with 0.25 mm as the standard size, at up to 300 mm/sec and 300-2,500 gf of tension.

CHMER's note for submerged cutting should be read before quoting tall parts: the recommended maximum workpiece height is the Z stroke minus 45mm. Two 1T water chillers, one for flushing and one for submerged work, are on the standard list, as are diamond guides and auto data recovery after a blackout. Auto wire threading (AWT) is an option, not standard, and so is the 30kg auto wire chopper. The machine weighs 2,375 kg (5,236 lb) and occupies 2,300 x 2,300 x 2,100 mm, with a 590 L (156 gal) tank.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Compact for a submerged-capable wire EDM: 2,300 x 2,300 x 2,100 mm (W x D x H) and 2,375 kg (5,236 lb)
  • Takes workpieces up to 725 x 560 x 215 mm and 300 kg (661 lb) on 360 x 250 mm of X and Y travel
  • Runs wire from 0.15 to 0.3 mm at 300-2,500 gf of tension, so fine and standard wire share one machine
  • Water chillers for both flushing and submerged circuits are standard accessories
  • Auto data recovery after a blackout is included as standard

Limitations

  • Taper is listed at ±14.5°/80, against ±21°/100 on the G64S
  • Auto wire threading (AWT) is on the option list, so unattended multi-opening jobs need it ordered
  • X Y feed rate is limited to 800 mm/min (31.5 ipm) with AC servo drives; the series has no linear motor axis
  • U and V travel is 60 x 60 mm (2.4 x 2.4 in), which limits taper height and offset

Best For

Small punch and die inserts within 360 x 250 mm of travel Toolrooms with limited floor space for a wire machine Workpieces up to 300 kg (661 lb) cut submerged or with flushing General wire work with 0.25 mm brass wire

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What are the travels of the CHMER G32S?

X and Y travel are 360 mm (14.2 in) and 250 mm (9.8 in), Z is 220 mm (8.7 in), and the U and V axes move 60 x 60 mm (2.4 x 2.4 in). The largest workpiece CHMER lists is 725 x 560 x 215 mm at up to 300 kg (661 lb).

02 How tall a part can the G32S cut submerged?

CHMER states that in submerged condition the recommended maximum workpiece height is the Z stroke minus 45mm. The Z travel in the table is 220 mm (8.7 in), and the maximum workpiece height listed is 215 mm, so check the submerged allowance for your part before committing a tall block.

03 Does the G32S come with automatic wire threading?

Not as standard. Auto Wire Threading (AWT) is on CHMER's option list for this model, together with a swinging panel, a 2-in-1 transformer and AVR, a 30kgs wire feeder, an auto wire chopper and a DC inverter chiller.

04 What wire sizes does the G32S run?

The wire diameter range is 0.15-0.3 mm (0.006-0.012 in) and the standard size is 0.25 mm (0.010 in). Maximum wire feed rate is 300 mm/sec and wire tension is adjustable from 300 to 2,500 gf. Brass wire in DIA.0.25mm is on the standard accessory list.
