Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Campro NT-208SY that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Campro NT-208SY carries every option of the NT-208 platform at once: a sub-spindle, a Y axis and a BMT live turret. It is an 8 in chuck turning and milling center with Ø400 mm (Ø15.7 in) of turning diameter, 520 mm (20.4 in) of turning length and 100 (±50) mm of Y travel.
Campro calls the Y axis a real Y-axis and makes a specific claim for it: because it is a true linear axis, servo compensation can be applied, which the maker says gives excellent positioning accuracy and reduces the error that comes from calculating an off-centre position with X and C. For a buyer the practical meaning is simpler. Flats can be milled to a square shoulder, keyways cut to width in one pass and holes drilled off the centreline.
The sub-spindle then completes the part. It is an A2-5 unit with a 6 in chuck, 5.5 / 7.5 kW (10 HP) and 5,000 rpm, working under synchronized control with the 8 in, 11 / 15 kW (20 HP) main spindle. All twelve turret stations, on a BMT-55 interface, serve both spindles, with driven tools at up to 5,000 rpm.
The Y axis affects the rest of the machine. X rapid is 20 m/min, Y is 10 m/min and Z is 24 m/min, where the NT-208SM without Y rapids at 24 / 24 m/min. The machine is also taller, 4,254 x 2,141 x 2,381 mm (W x D x H), and needs 30 kVA. Weight is 4,700 kg (10,361 lb).
The 2.2 / 3.7 kW turret servo motor sets the scale of milling: this is a lathe that mills, sized for drills, taps and small end mills.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Y axis with 100 (±50) mm of travel, described by Campro as a real Y-axis with servo compensation
- Sub-spindle with 6 in chuck for back-end machining under synchronized control
- 12-station BMT-55 live turret with 5,000 rpm driven tools
- Box-way one-piece 30° slant bed
- Swing over the bed of Ø680 mm (Ø26.7 in)
Limitations
- Turret servo motor is 2.2 / 3.7 kW, so milling cuts are light
- Y rapid of 10 m/min and X rapid of 20 m/min
- Sub-spindle is rated 5.5 / 7.5 kW (10 HP) against 11 / 15 kW (20 HP) on the main
- Height of 2,381 mm, well above the 1,842 mm of the NT-208SM

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Y-axis travel is 100 (±50) mm. Campro describes it as a real Y-axis that allows servo compensation and gives excellent positioning accuracy, performing multiple tasks on a workpiece with the BMT living turret and sub-spindle. It makes off-centre milling and drilling possible.
02
Main spindle: A2-6, 8 in chuck, 11 / 15 kW (20 HP), 4,200 rpm, Ø52 mm (Ø2.04 in) hole through the draw tube. Sub-spindle: A2-5, 6 in chuck, 5.5 / 7.5 kW (10 HP), 5,000 rpm. C-axis indexing is 0.001°.
03
Rapid traverse is 20 / 10 / 24 m/min (787.4 / 393.7 / 944.8 in/min) for X / Y / Z. Travels are 200 + 20 mm in X, 100 (±50) mm in Y and 630 mm (24.8 in) in Z.
04
The right-hand end of the bed. The NT-208SY has a sub-spindle with a 6 in chuck for second-side work. The NT-208Y has a tailstock with a Ø80 mm (Ø3.1 in) quill for supporting shafts. Y axis, live turret, main spindle and overall size are the same.
