How much does the Breton Hawx E2 K18 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Breton Hawx E2 K18 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Breton Hawx E2 K18 is the starting size of the modular Hawx E2: a 5-axis gantry machining centre whose bridge spans 2,700 mm (106.3 in) of Y while X is only 1,800 mm (70.9 in). Z is 1,300 mm (51.2 in). The envelope is wider than it is long, which is unusual for a gantry and worth understanding before comparing it with the other columns of the table.
Breton explains the reason. The E2 begins as a pre-assembled starting module, a U-shape monoblock structure, and grows lengthwise when one or more calibrated U-shape supporting frames are added. The K18 is that first module on its own. The longer E2 sizes share its Y, Z, head and spindle rows and differ in X alone; the Breton Hawx E2 K38 has 3,800 mm (149.6 in).
Compared with the E1 machines, the E2 trades some speed and spindle power for width. Rapids are 70 m/min (2,756 ipm) in X and Y. The spindle is rated 18 kW (24.1 hp) in S6 and 15 kW (20.1 hp) in S1 at up to 24,000 rpm, where the Breton Hawx E1 K40 lists 25 kW (33.5 hp) in S6. Torque is 15 Nm (11.1 lb-ft) in S6.
So the K18 suits wide, relatively short work in materials that cut easily: resin and foam models, thermoformed shells, laminate panels, light aluminium parts. If the parts are certain to get longer, the question to put to the maker is how an installed K18 is extended, since the page describes the principle but not the procedure.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 2,700 mm (106.3 in) of Y travel, against 1,900 mm (74.8 in) on the Breton Hawx E1 K40
- Built from a pre-assembled U-shape starting module that Breton describes as expandable longitudinally
- 24,000 rpm spindle on an HSK-A63 / HSK-F63 interface
- Full 1,300 mm (51.2 in) of Z, the same as every larger Hawx
- Siemens Sinumerik One control
Limitations
- X travel is only 1,800 mm (70.9 in), the shortest in the Hawx table
- Spindle power is 18 kW (24.1 hp) in S6, below the 25 kW (33.5 hp) of the Breton Hawx E1 K40
- S6 torque of 15 Nm (11.1 lb-ft) rules out large-diameter cutters in metal
- No table size or load is listed

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Because the K18 is the E2 starting module on its own. Y, across the bridge, is 2,700 mm (106.3 in) on every E2. X depends on how many supporting frames are added, and with none it is 1,800 mm (70.9 in).
02
The Breton Hawx E1 K40 is a monolithic machine with 4,000 mm (157.5 in) of X, 1,900 mm (74.8 in) of Y, rapids of 80 m/min (3,150 ipm) and a 25 kW (33.5 hp) S6 spindle. The E2 K18 is wider, at 2,700 mm (106.3 in) of Y, but shorter, slightly slower at 70 m/min (2,756 ipm), and has an 18 kW (24.1 hp) S6 spindle.
03
It is rated 18 kW (24.1 hp) in S6 and 15 kW (20.1 hp) in S1, with 15 Nm (11.1 lb-ft) of torque in S6 and 12 Nm (8.9 lb-ft) in S1. Top speed is 24,000 rpm.
04
A swings from -135° to 105° and C from -270° to 270°, both at 28 rpm. Breton describes the head geometry as offset, which it says increases the machinable volume and gives access to undercuts.
