BLM Group LT360 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the BLM Group LT360 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from BLM Group or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

In the BLM Group LT360 the laser head is carried by a robot. That is the difference from BLM's other cell for formed parts, and it shows in the table: accuracy is ±0.006 in (0.15 mm), with repeatability of ±0.002 in (0.05 mm). The fiber source is 2 kW - 3 kW, and the work area is 59 x 39 in (1,500 x 1,000 mm).

Like the LT-FREE, it cuts parts that are already three-dimensional: bent, hydroformed, extruded or drawn sections and stamped sheet. The LT-FREE moves its head on a CNC system and lists ±0.002 in (0.05 mm) for accuracy as well as repeatability. A robot-carried head trades some of that positioning accuracy for the reach of a robot arm. Does the part's tolerance allow it? Trimmed ends and clearance holes in bent tube are the obvious candidates. For features that locate other components, check the drawing against the accuracy figure first.

There are three configurations, named ENTRY LEVEL, ONE FLEX and TAILORED. A fixed table accepts fixtures of many kinds. Adding a handling robot lets the cell cut a part all round without anyone repositioning it by hand, and BLM notes that the robot's gripping position can be configured on a support system instead of building dedicated tooling for each part. In the Tailored version the part is grabbed outside the work cell, which is what allows the LT360 to sit in a production chain.

Installed power is 40 kVA, against the 60 - 66 kW listed for the LT-FREE. The control is PC-based and listed as SIEMENS, behind the unified BLM GROUP operator interface. Access is through one large front door, and two internal cameras show the process on the interface screen.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Robot-carried 3D cutting head reaches round bent, hydroformed and stamped parts
  • Repeatability of ±0.002 in (0.05 mm)
  • A handling robot can reposition the part, so no manual repositioning or rework on the fixture
  • Tailored version grabs the part outside the work cell for integration into a production chain
  • Installed power of 40 kVA
  • Layout configurable according to requirements, in three named configurations

Limitations

  • Accuracy of ±0.006 in (0.15 mm) is coarser than the ±0.002 in (0.05 mm) of the LT-FREE
  • The fiber source stops at 3 kW; the LT-FREE is also offered at 4 kW
  • Work area of 59 x 39 in (1,500 x 1,000 mm) limits part size
  • The table lists no rotary or twin-table option for overlapping loading with cutting

Best For

Trimming and cutting holes in bent tube where ±0.006 in (0.15 mm) is sufficient Formed parts handled by robot without dedicated tooling for each part Cells fed from outside as a link in a production chain Sites where a 40 kVA supply is what is available

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What is the difference between the LT360 and the LT-FREE?

The way the head moves, and the accuracy that results. The LT360 carries its 3D head on a robot and lists an accuracy of ±0.006 in (0.15 mm). The LT-FREE uses a CNC head system and lists ±0.002 in (0.05 mm). The LT-FREE also offers a 4 kW source and split or rotary tables; the LT360 lists 40 kVA of installed power.

02 How accurate is the LT360?

Accuracy is ±0.006 in (0.15 mm) and repeatability ±0.002 in (0.05 mm). Repeatability is the tighter of the two, so a part cut many times will match its predecessors more closely than it matches the nominal drawing dimension.

03 Which configurations of the LT360 exist?

BLM names three: LT360 ENTRY LEVEL, LT360 ONE FLEX and LT360 TAILORED. Its descriptions cover a fixed table that takes varied fixtures, a fixed table combined with a handling robot, and an arrangement suited to integration into large production chains. In the Tailored version the part is grabbed outside the work cell.

04 What laser and control does the LT360 use?

A fiber laser source of 2 kW - 3 kW with a 3D cutting head. The control is PC-based and listed as SIEMENS, with the unified BLM GROUP operator interface. Installed power is 40 kVA and the enclosure is Class C1.

05 Does the LT360 need a fixture for every part?

Not necessarily. With a handling robot, the gripping position is configured on a support system, and BLM says this avoids making dedicated tooling for each part. Without the robot, the fixed table is equipped with fixtures in the usual way.
