Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Prima Power LASERDYNE 795 XS that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Prima Power LASERDYNE 795 XS is a multi-axis laser processing system for welding, drilling and cutting, with a cubic travel of X 1,000 mm, Y 1,000 mm and Z 1,000 mm (39.4 in each). It is the shorter of the two 795 versions.
Unlike a sheet-metal 3D laser, this machine is built around precision more than speed. Linear axes move at 20 m/min. Accuracy and repeatability of X, Y and Z are each stated as 25 um (0.001 in). The beam is steered by the BeamDirector, a two-axis head with 900° of C rotation and 300° of D tilt (±150° from vertical), turning at 90 rpm with an accuracy of +/-15 arcsec. Prima Power says its direct drive design has no gears or belts.
Prima Power names aerospace, automotive, turbine engine and general manufacturing as the markets it serves. Two families of fiber laser are offered. CW sources go up to 6000 W, and QCW sources run from 6000 W to 23000 W. Quick change nozzles let the same machine move from one laser process to another.
Control is by the LASERDYNE S94P, which integrates laser, motion and process sensing and can control more than 7 axes simultaneously, so rotary and tilt tables can be added; Prima Power lists a variety of those as options. The base is granite with a heavy-duty steel weldment. If the parts are tall, extended Z heights of 1370 mm (54 in) or 1830 mm (72 in) are available. For longer parts the LASERDYNE 795 XL doubles X to 2,000 mm.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Accuracy and repeatability of 25 um (0.001 in) on X, Y and Z
- BeamDirector with 900° C and 300° D motion, accurate to +/-15 arcsec
- CW fiber lasers up to 6000 W or QCW from 6000 W to 23000 W
- S94P controller can simultaneously control more than 7 axes
- Extended Z heights of 1370 mm (54 in) or 1830 mm (72 in) available
Limitations
- Linear axis speed of 20 m/min
- X travel of 1,000 mm (39.4 in); longer parts need the LASERDYNE 795 XL
- Rotary and tilt axes are options, with accuracy depending on the one chosen
- A precision processing system, not a production machine for stamped sheet-metal trimming

Frequently Asked Questions
01
X travel. The LASERDYNE 795 XS has X 1,000 mm (39.4 in). The LASERDYNE 795 XL has X 2,000 mm. Y and Z are 1,000 mm on both, and the speed, accuracy and laser source data are shared.
02
X, Y and Z axis accuracy is 25 um (0.001 in), and repeatability is the same figure. The BeamDirector is accurate to +/-15 arcsec with 15 arcsec repeatability. For rotary and tilt axes Prima Power says a variety of options is available.
03
Fiber lasers of two kinds: CW up to 6000 W, and QCW from 6000 W to 23000 W. The BeamDirector and quick change nozzles allow changing from one laser process to another, between welding, drilling and cutting.
04
It is the moving-beam head that gives the fourth and fifth axes. Its C axis covers 900° and its D axis 300°, which is ±150° from vertical, at 90 rpm. The direct drive design eliminates gears and belts.
