BLM Group LT6 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the BLM Group LT6 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from BLM Group or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The BLM Group LT6 is where 3D cutting starts in the Lasertube range. It pairs a tilting Tube Cutter 3D head with a 3 kW fiber source, for tube from 0.5" to 6" in diameter and bar up to 12 lb/ft.

The tilting head is the reason to choose it. An inclined cut lets two tubes meet along a tight joint line with a minimal weld bead, and chamfered or semi-chamfered edges can be prepared at the end of the tube or in its body, ready for welding. BLM also uses the tilting axis for speed: its Active Tilt function is described as reducing cutting and marking times. None of that is available on the LTX, which cuts with a 2D head.

BLM publishes this model's table in metric. Bars from 2.5 m (8.2 ft) can be loaded. The maximum loadable length is 6.5 - 8.5 m (21.3 - 27.9 ft), and the bundle loader is rated at 4,000 kg (8,818 lb). The standard machine combines loading of 6.5 m (21.3 ft) with unloading of 3.6 m (11.8 ft). Anyone cutting long finished parts should look at the 4.5 m and 6.5 m unloading lengths instead.

Only one source rating appears in the table. The LT7 above it lists 3-4-5 kW and raises the bar weight to 15.5 lb/ft. On the LT6, small and light tubes are steadied by manually adjusted smart templates, and a template can be swapped for a roller to suit the profile. Scrap is extracted from two different points without stopping the system.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 3D cutting head for inclined cuts, chamfers and semi-chamfers at the tube end or in the body
  • Active Tilt uses the acceleration of the head's tilting axis to shorten cutting and marking times
  • Bundle loader rated at 4,000 kg (8,818 lb), with manual loading for small urgent batches
  • Three programmable unloading positions at the front or rear deliver parts already separated
  • A template can be exchanged quickly for a roller, depending on the profile to be cut

Limitations

  • Only a 3 kW fiber source is listed; the LT7 offers 3-4-5 kW
  • Bar weight is limited to 12 lb/ft and tube diameter to 6"
  • The standard machine unloads 3.6 m (11.8 ft); longer parts need the 4.5 m or 6.5 m unloading length
  • Smart templates for small and lightweight tubes are adjusted by hand, following the operator panel's suggestion

Best For

Tube joints that need inclined cuts and minimal weld beads Weld preparation with chamfered or semi-chamfered edges Tube and open profiles from 0.5" to 6" in diameter, up to 12 lb/ft Bundle-fed batches with the occasional hand-loaded urgent job

Frequently Asked Questions

01 Why choose the LT6 over the LTX?

For the 3D head. The LT6 can tilt its cutting head to make inclined cuts and weld chamfers, which the 2D Tube Cutter of the LTX cannot do. The LT6 also takes heavier bar: 12 lb/ft against the 10 lb/ft of the LTX.

02 What are the loading and unloading lengths of the LT6?

The minimum loadable length is 2.5 m (8.2 ft) and the maximum is 6.5 - 8.5 m (21.3 - 27.9 ft). Unloading is listed at 3.6 - 4.5 - 6.5 m (11.8 - 14.8 - 21.3 ft). The standard machine is loading 6.5 m (21.3 ft) and unloading 3.6 m (11.8 ft).

03 What does 3D cutting add on a tube laser?

BLM names three things. Inclined cuts give an extra degree of freedom where two or more tubes meet, which helps when a clean look with minimal weld beads is wanted. Chamfered or semi-chamfered cuts prepare the tube for welding. And the tilting axis, through Active Tilt, reduces cutting and marking times.

04 What materials and sections does the LT6 cut?

Round, square and rectangular tubes, open profiles and special sections, in mild steel, stainless steel, aluminum, copper and brass. The tube range is from 0.5" to 6" in diameter and the bar weight limit is 12 lb/ft.

05 How does the LT6 deal with scrap and finished parts?

Parts leave through three programmable unloading positions at the front or rear, backed by a rear conveyor belt and motorized collection tables, so they are already separated at the exit. Scrap is separated automatically and extracted from two different points without stopping the system.
