Overview

The AWEA HTP-4025 is the shortest and narrowest machine in the HTP bridge series: 4,000 mm (157.5 in) of X travel, 2,500 mm (98.4 in) of Y and 1,000 mm (39.4 in) of Z under a fixed cross beam, with 2,700 mm (106.3 in) between the columns. Its table measures 4,020 x 2,400 mm (158.3 x 94.5 in) and carries 15,000 kg (33,069 lb).

Being the shortest brings two measurable benefits. X rapid traverse is 15 m/min (591 ipm), the highest figure in the series, where the HTP-5025 drops to 10 m/min (394 ipm). The VDI figures are also the tightest AWEA prints for an HTP: P ≤ 0.030 mm over full travel and Ps ≤ 0.025 mm.

AWEA builds a second bridge machine with the same table and the same X and Y strokes, the LP-4025. What separates them is the head. The LP-4025 has 760 mm (29.9 in) of Z as standard, while the HTP-4025 starts at 1,000 mm and is built around a 4,000 rpm gear spindle with a BBT50 (ISO 50) taper and a 22 / 26 kW (29.5 / 34.9 hp) motor. AWEA describes a U-shaped saddle with four linear guideways and ten sliding blocks supporting the Z-axis, which is how the head keeps its support when it reaches down that far.

The machine weighs 41,000 kg (90,388 lb). A 32 T magazine is standard, tools may be 350 mm (13.8 in) long and 20 kg (44 lb), and the coolant tank holds 900 liter.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • X rapid traverse of 15 m/min (591 ipm), the fastest in the HTP series and shared only with the HTP-4033 and HTP-4041
  • VDI positioning accuracy of P ≤ 0.030 mm over full travel with repeatability of Ps ≤ 0.025 mm
  • 1,000 mm (39.4 in) of Z travel as standard, against 760 mm (29.9 in) on the LP-4025
  • BBT dual contact spindle, with taper and face both held against the tool holder
  • At 41,000 kg (90,388 lb) it is the lightest HTP, which eases the foundation and the lift

Limitations

  • The gear spindle tops out at 4,000 rpm, so small cutters and aluminium finishing run slowly
  • 2,700 mm (106.3 in) between the columns; work wider than that needs the HTP-4033 at 3,500 mm (137.8 in)
  • Table load of 15,000 kg (33,069 lb) is the lowest in the series; the HTP-5025 carries 18,000 kg (39,683 lb)
  • The automatic head changer and the vertical / horizontal ATC system are optional upgrades

Best For

Heavy steel and cast iron milling on parts up to 4,000 mm (157.5 in) long Mould bases and die shoes within a 4,020 x 2,400 mm table Deep work that needs 1,000 mm (39.4 in) of Z Shops that want the tightest VDI figures of the HTP range

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How does the HTP-4025 differ from the LP-4025?

Both have 4,000 mm (157.5 in) of X, 2,500 mm (98.4 in) of Y, a 4,020 x 2,400 mm (158.3 x 94.5 in) table and a 15,000 kg (33,069 lb) table load. The LP-4025 lists 760 mm (29.9 in) of Z and weighs 40,000 kg (88,183 lb). The HTP-4025 lists 1,000 mm (39.4 in) of Z with a 4,000 rpm gear spindle and weighs 41,000 kg (90,388 lb).

02 What spindle does the HTP-4025 have?

A gear spindle running to 4,000 rpm with a BBT50 (ISO 50) taper and a 22 / 26 kW (29.5 / 34.9 hp) motor; the table also prints a 30 / 37 option. AWEA says the gear head uses a short, highly rigid transmission shaft meant for heavy cutting.

03 How accurate is the HTP-4025?

AWEA gives two sets of figures. Under JIS, positioning is ± 0.015 mm over full travel and repeatability is ± 0.003 mm. Under VDI, P ≤ 0.030 mm over full travel and Ps ≤ 0.025 mm. Feedback is a semi-closed loop system with encoders connected directly to the ball screws.

04 Can the Y and Z travels of the HTP-4025 be extended?

The specification table shows Y travel of 2,500 mm (98.4 in) with the note "Opt. 3,200" and Z travel of 1,000 mm (39.4 in) with "Opt. 1,200 / 1,400". The spindle nose to table distance is 200 ~ 1,200 mm (7.9 ~ 47.2 in) in the standard form.
