ATLIX xBUILD 5000

Predecessor: Trumpf TruPrint 5000. ATLIX was carved out of TRUMPF Additive Manufacturing in 2025; the xBUILD 5000 is the next generation of the TRUMPF TruPrint 5000 line, with a larger build volume than the earlier TruPrint 5000. (source)

ATLIX xBUILD 5000 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the ATLIX xBUILD 5000 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from ATLIX or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The ATLIX xBUILD 5000 is a four-laser production machine: 4 x 1 kW of TRUMPF fiber laser power over a 500 x 500 x 400 mm (19.7 x 19.7 x 15.7 in) build volume. Unlike the smaller xBUILD models, where a second laser is an option, all four lasers are part of the listed machine.

The headline build rate needs reading carefully. ATLIX gives 50 - 450 cm³/h (3.1 - 27.5 in³/h) and qualifies it as theoretical, for 4-laser exposure, with recoating excluded. Real output per hour will be lower once recoating time is counted, and lower again on layers where the part geometry does not keep all four lasers busy. Use the figure to compare configurations, not to quote a lead time.

Layer thickness starts at 30 μm and runs to 150 μm, with a beam diameter of 80 - 200 μm and a scan speed of max. 3 m/s (118 in/s). Preheating reaches 200 °C (392 °F). The table also lists a filter unit, described as saturation, long-term, and Nitrogen or Argon as shielding gas.

Site preparation is on a different scale from the xBUILD 3000, which weighs 4,300 kg (9,480 lb) and builds 300 x 300 x 400 mm (11.8 x 11.8 x 15.7 in). This machine weighs 6,900 kg (15,212 lb) and measures 2,250 x 3,600 x 2,500 mm (88.6 x 141.7 x 98.4 in). The power supply is listed as 400 V - 63 A - 50 Hz and nothing else, so a site on a different voltage or frequency should raise that with ATLIX early.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • Four lasers as listed equipment: 4 x 1 kW
  • 500 x 500 x 400 mm (19.7 x 19.7 x 15.7 in) build volume
  • Theoretical build rate of 50 - 450 cm³/h (3.1 - 27.5 in³/h) with 4-laser exposure
  • Layers up to 150 μm with a beam diameter of 80 - 200 μm
  • Preheating up to 200 °C (392 °F)

Limitations

  • The build rate is theoretical and excludes recoating, so hourly output in practice is lower
  • Thinnest layer is 30 μm, which limits fine detail on small features
  • Power supply is listed only as 400 V - 63 A - 50 Hz
  • Weighs 6,900 kg (15,212 lb) and occupies 2,250 x 3,600 x 2,500 mm (88.6 x 141.7 x 98.4 in)

Best For

Series production of parts that fill a 500 x 500 mm (19.7 x 19.7 in) area Large single parts up to 400 mm (15.7 in) tall Thick-layer builds at up to 150 μm where output matters most Plants with a 400 V - 63 A - 50 Hz supply available

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How many lasers does the xBUILD 5000 have?

Four. Laser power is listed as 4 x 1 kW from a TRUMPF fiber laser source, and the number of lasers is given as 4 with no optional variant. Beam diameter is 80 - 200 μm.

02 What is the real build rate of the xBUILD 5000?

ATLIX lists 50 - 450 cm³/h (3.1 - 27.5 in³/h) and states that the figure is theoretical, for 4-laser exposure, with recoating excluded. Expect less in practice, because recoating takes time on every layer and not every layer loads all four lasers.

03 What is the build volume of the xBUILD 5000?

500 x 500 x 400 mm (19.7 x 19.7 x 15.7 in). The xBUILD 3000 has the same 400 mm (15.7 in) height on a 300 x 300 mm (11.8 x 11.8 in) plan, so the xBUILD 5000 adds plan area, not height.

04 What power supply does the xBUILD 5000 need?

The table lists 400 V - 63 A - 50 Hz. No other voltage or frequency is given for this model, so confirm with ATLIX what is available if your supply differs. Shielding gas is Nitrogen or Argon.

05 How large and heavy is the xBUILD 5000?

Machine dimensions are 2,250 x 3,600 x 2,500 mm (88.6 x 141.7 x 98.4 in) and the weight is 6,900 kg (15,212 lb). Check floor loading, the route into the building and ceiling clearance before ordering.
