How much does the AccuteX AU-5iA cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the AccuteX AU-5iA that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
A 500 mm (19.7 in) X axis with only 300 mm (11.8 in) of Y gives the AccuteX AU-5iA a long, narrow cutting area. Z travel is 300 mm (11.8 in). In the AU series it is the step between the AU-3iA and the AU-6iA, and it is the first AU size with the full 300 mm (11.8 in) of Z and 100 x 100 mm (3.9 x 3.9 in) of U and V travel.
AccuteX offers the same three travels in the AL-500SA, so the question is what separates them. The AU-5iA is the lighter machine at 3,400 kg (7,496 lb) against 3,600 kg (7,937 lb) for the AL-500SA, and its listed footprint is 2,850 x 2,300 x 2,210 mm (112.2 x 90.6 x 87.0 in). The workpiece limits are close: 965 x 555 x 295 mm (38.0 x 21.9 x 11.6 in) and 500 kg (1,102 lb) here. The AU page carries no standard and optional accessory lists, while the AL page lists its threader and chiller as standard, so the comparison has to be made on quotations.
On the generator side AccuteX describes an EF, or electrolysis free, discharge method, and the controller table names the power type as MOSFET non-electrolysis power. The stated purpose is to reduce workpiece cracking and electrolysis damage. That matters on carbide and on steels left in the tank for long skim sequences.
Taper capacity is ±21° H=100. The spool is 10 kg (22 lb). One figure is missing from this page: the water system capacity printed for the AU-5iA repeats the smallest model's value and is not reproduced here.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 500 mm (19.7 in) of X travel with a full 300 mm (11.8 in) Z stroke
- Lighter than the AL-500SA: 3,400 kg (7,496 lb) against 3,600 kg (7,937 lb)
- Electrolysis-free (EF) discharge with MOSFET non-electrolysis power listed in the controller table
- 100 x 100 mm (3.9 x 3.9 in) of U and V travel for tapers to ±21° H=100
- Workpieces up to 965 x 555 x 295 mm (38.0 x 21.9 x 11.6 in) and 500 kg (1,102 lb)
Limitations
- Y travel is 300 mm (11.8 in); the AU-6iA has 400 mm (15.7 in)
- The page gives no standard or optional accessory list, so the delivered scope must come from the quotation
- AccuteX describes the linear scale as an option on the AU drive system
- Wire spool is 10 kg (22 lb), not the 16 kg (35 lb) of the larger AU-750iA

Frequently Asked Questions
01
X is 500 mm (19.7 in), Y is 300 mm (11.8 in) and Z is 300 mm (11.8 in), with 100 x 100 mm (3.9 x 3.9 in) on U and V. The maximum workpiece is 965 x 555 x 295 mm (38.0 x 21.9 x 11.6 in) and 500 kg (1,102 lb). Maximum cutting taper is listed as ±21° H=100.
02
AccuteX calls it EF discharging and says the method minimizes the possibility of workpiece cracking or electrolysis problems. The controller table lists the power type as MOSFET non-electrolysis power. In practice it is aimed at keeping the cut surface from softening or rusting during long cuts.
03
The AU-3iA is the smaller machine: 350 mm (13.8 in) by 250 mm (9.8 in) with a 220 mm (8.7 in) Z stroke and 80 x 80 mm (3.1 x 3.1 in) of U and V travel. The AU-5iA is longer in every axis, carries 500 kg (1,102 lb) and weighs 3,400 kg (7,496 lb).
04
The controller table lists keyboard, mouse, USB, Ethernet and FTP as data inputs. The control is a Windows system on a 64-bit Industrial PC with a ≥ 30GB SSD, and it stores 99999 sets of cutting data. Commands can be given in mm or inch.
