How much does the AccuteX AL-400SA cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the AccuteX AL-400SA that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The AL-400SA is the smallest wire EDM in AccuteX's AL series, a 400 mm (15.7 in) by 300 mm (11.8 in) machine with a 220 mm (8.7 in) Z stroke. It takes a workpiece of up to 790 x 610 x 215 mm (31.1 x 24.0 x 8.5 in) and 400 kg (882 lb), and it weighs 3,000 kg (6,614 lb).
What separates the AL from AccuteX's other small machines is what arrives in the standard accessory list. Auto Wire Threading (AWT), the water chiller and the SD Master discharge board are all standard here. On the GA-43, which has the same X and Y travel, the threader and the chiller are options. The AL page also describes a linear shaft motor drive, which AccuteX credits with rapid servo control and a more sensitive discharge gap control.
Taper capacity sits in the middle of the range. U and V travel 100 x 100 mm (3.9 x 3.9 in) and the maximum cutting taper is ±21° (H=100). The GA-43 offers 60 mm (2.4 in) of U and V travel.
A note on height. AccuteX advises that, for stable cutting, the suggested maximum workpiece height is the Z axis stroke minus 30mm, so do not plan on using all 220 mm (8.7 in). The wire spool is limited to 10 kg (22 lb) unless the optional 45Kg Wire Jumbo Feeder is fitted, and X/Y linear scales, the 6th Axis Package (W axis) and the 0.1mm Wire Application are options as well.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Auto Wire Threading (AWT), a water chiller and the SD Master board are standard accessories
- Linear shaft motor drive, described by AccuteX as giving rapid servo control and sensitive discharge gap control
- 100 x 100 mm (3.9 x 3.9 in) of U and V travel against 60 mm (2.4 in) on the GA-43, with taper to ±21° (H=100)
- Compact for its class at 3,000 kg (6,614 lb) with a 630 L water system
- MST is named in the optional accessory list for this size
Limitations
- Z stroke is 220 mm (8.7 in), and AccuteX suggests keeping the workpiece to the Z stroke minus 30mm
- X/Y Linear Scale is an optional accessory, not standard
- The standard spool is 10 kg (22 lb); longer unattended runs need the optional 45Kg Wire Jumbo Feeder
- High Pressure Water Jet Threading is not available together with Anti-Collision on Z Axis

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The standard accessory list includes Auto Wire Threading (AWT), a water chiller, the SD Master board, upper and lower flushing nozzles, diamond guides, a conductor plate, brass wire, the ion resin tank with resin, a paper filter and a vertical alignment jig. Linear scales on X and Y are an option.
02
The Z stroke is 220 mm (8.7 in) and the maximum workpiece height is listed as 215 mm within the 790 x 610 x 215 mm (31.1 x 24.0 x 8.5 in) envelope. AccuteX adds that for the most stable cutting the suggested maximum height is the Z axis stroke minus 30mm.
03
The AL-500SA is longer in X at 500 mm (19.7 in) with the same 300 mm (11.8 in) of Y, and its Z stroke is 300 mm (11.8 in) against 220 mm (8.7 in) here. The AL-500SA takes 500 kg (1,102 lb) and weighs 3,600 kg (7,937 lb). U and V travel and taper capacity are the same on both machines.
04
A Windows control on a 64-bit Industrial PC with a colour TFT touch screen. It handles 5 Axes / 6 Axes (Opt. W Axis) with 4 or 5 simultaneous, a minimum command unit of 0.0001 mm / 0.00001 inch and 99999 sets of cutting data. Data goes in by keyboard, mouse, USB, Ethernet or FTP.
