How much does the Weingärtner mpmc 1300 L/S cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Weingärtner mpmc 1300 L/S that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Three weight classes define the Weingärtner mpmc 1300 L/S: 8,000 / 16,000 / 30,000 kg (17,637 / 35,273 / 66,138 lb) between chuck and tailstock, on 1,300 mm (51.2 in) of swing over bed and slide. No other model with the C6/C8/HSK100 tool interface is rated as high. The spindle nose is A15 or A20 to DIN 55026.
In travel it is a wider mpmc 1000 S. Both list X at 1,100 / 1,250 / 1,500 mm (43.3 / 49.2 / 59.1 in) with 100 mm (3.9 in) below the workpiece center, and both rapid at 25 m/min (984 ipm) on X and Y. The difference is in Y: -475 / +475 (+725) mm here, against -325 / +325 (+625) mm on the mpmc 1000 S. Z rapid is 40 m/min (1,575 ipm).
Work of 30,000 kg changes how a machine is loaded and supported, and the series description addresses both. Weingärtner offers a steady rest with CNC-controlled support movements that takes either rollers or hydrostatic pads and can correct the workpiece center under full load. A soft-landing system with prismatic support pads handles loading and unloading. Long boring bars have storage stations above the headstock or behind the tailstock.
The B axis swivels ±110°. Its positioning accuracy is quoted as ±3 arc seconds, and the headstock's as well. What the table does not tell you is the spindle power behind those ratings or the distance between centers, both of which are settled per order. The control is SINUMERIK ONE.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Rated up to 30,000 kg (66,138 lb) between chuck and tailstock, the highest figure among the C6/C8/HSK100 models
- Even Y stroke of 475 mm (18.7 in) to each side of the workpiece axis
- X travel of 1,100 / 1,250 / 1,500 mm (43.3 / 49.2 / 59.1 in)
- Steady rest with CNC-controlled support movements, using rollers or hydrostatic pads on the same unit
- Positioning accuracy of ±3 arc seconds quoted for the B axis and the headstock
Limitations
- The steady rest is available upon request, so it has to be specified
- Rapids on X and Y are 25 m/min (984 ipm), below the 30 m/min (1,181 ipm) of the mpmc 1200 L
- Tooling stays at C6, C8 or HSK100; C10 and HSK125 start with the mpmc 1400 S
- The table prints no spindle power, torque, speed or turning length

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The mpmc 1000 S swings 1,000 mm (39.4 in) and is listed at 8,000 / 16,000 kg (17,637 / 35,273 lb). This model swings 1,300 mm (51.2 in) and adds a 30,000 kg (66,138 lb) class. X travels, spindle noses, tool interface and rapid rates are the same in both columns, and the Y stroke here is longer.
02
Between a hydraulically actuated power chuck and the tailstock, with steady rests where the part needs them. The steady rest Weingärtner offers has CNC-controlled support movements, and support rollers or hydrostatic pads can be used alternately on one unit. The maker points out that the workpiece center can be corrected under full load, without lifting the part by crane.
03
The row reads -475 / +475 (+725) mm, which converts to -18.7 / +18.7 (+28.5) in. So the horizontal slide moves 475 mm to either side of the workpiece axis. The bracketed +725 is not explained in Weingärtner's table and should be clarified with the maker.

C6, C8 or HSK100. That is the same list as on every smaller mpmc. The larger interfaces, C10 and HSK125, appear from the mpmc 1400 S upward, together with A20 or A28 spindle noses. For heavy special tools Weingärtner offers a separate heavy-duty tool magazine.
