How much does the Honor Seiki PL-200CM cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Honor Seiki PL-200CM that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
In the middle of Honor Seiki's Y-axis range, the PL-200CM turns 2,500 mm (98.4 in) in diameter and 1,600 mm (62.9 in) in height with a 12,000 kg (26,455 lb) workpiece limit. It is the only PL model that is taller in the cut than its VL counterpart: the VL-200CM, with the same diameter and load, is listed at 1,480 mm (58.2 in).
The smallest PL goes the other way. The PL-160CM has 1,000 mm (39.3 in) of turning height, well under the VL machine of its size. So within the PL series the 200 is the model for work that is both wide and tall, such as large valve bodies, compressor casings and gearbox housings that need turned bores on the axis and milled pads, ports and bolt faces off it.
The machining concept is stated by the maker in a line: a high rigidity vertical lathe combined with a gantry-type Y-axis mechanism, capable of operations similar to a bridge type machining center. A head that moves in Y over the table can mill a straight keyway or a rectangular flange face without interpolating the rotary table, and can drill a rectangular hole pattern directly.
Be careful with two rows of the published table. Tool positions read R16+L60 with no explanation. And the row labelled live spindle speed holds values that fall with table size across the three PL models, which is how a table speed behaves, so it is left out here. The milling spindle's speed, power and taper should be requested.
A lubricant chiller for the spindle bearing and gear, a cabinet air conditioner and a coolant bed shower system are standard. A tool presetter inside the machine, linear encoders and a Siemens controller are options.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 1,600 mm (62.9 in) turning height, more than the 1,480 mm (58.2 in) of the VL-200CM
- Gantry-type Y-axis mechanism for bridge-mill style machining on a turned part
- 2,500 mm (98.4 in) turning diameter and 12,000 kg (26,455 lb) workpiece limit
- Lubricant chiller and cabinet air conditioner are standard
- Optional tool presetter inside the machine
Limitations
- No usable milling spindle speed, power or taper in the maker's table
- Tool positions are given only as R16+L60, without explanation
- Y, X and Z travels are not published
- Manual 4-jaw table is standard; hydraulic chuck is optional

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Up to 2,500 mm (98.4 in) in swing and turning diameter, 1,600 mm (62.9 in) in turning height and 12,000 kg (26,455 lb) in weight.
02
Both turn 2,500 mm (98.4 in) and carry 12,000 kg (26,455 lb). The PL-200CM has a gantry-type Y axis and 1,600 mm (62.9 in) of turning height. The VL-200CM has no Y axis listed, 1,480 mm (58.2 in) of height, 16 tool positions and a 50-2,250 rpm live spindle. Pick the PL when straight-line milling matters.
03
The standard list includes a complete splash guard, a table with manual 4-jaw chuck, automatic lubrication, a lubricant chiller for the spindle bearing and gear, a cabinet air conditioner, a coolant tank, a coolant bed shower system, a hinge type chip conveyor and spindle orientation.
04
The page does not give a figure that can be relied on. Its speed row is labelled live spindle speed, but the values across the PL models behave like table speeds. Ask Honor Seiki for the table speed and the milling spindle speed separately.
