WardJet M-10040 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the WardJet M-10040 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from WardJet or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The WARDJet M-10040 is the longest M-Series waterjet, with 32' 8" (10.0 m) of Y travel and 13' 1" (4.0 m) of X travel. Its table is laid out differently from the smaller M-Series pages: WARDJet gives axis travels instead of a cutting area, and Z travel is 1' (0.3 m).

Ten metres of travel covers several sheets in a row, or one very long component. WARDJet calls the M-Series a large-format solution for large and multiple sheet production, and this is the size where that description fully applies. The gantry carries up to 3 Z-carriages, and the series allows both 3-axis and 5-axis heads.

The speed row differs from the shorter machines. Here it reads 0.01 in/min – 1400in/min based on 230 volts (0.0254 cm/min - 35.56 m/min based on 230 volts), where the M-7540 lists a top figure of 2000 in/min. The drive is the same precision ground helical rack and pinion. Buyers comparing cycle times across the series should use the 1400 in/min figure for this model.

Some rows a buyer would want are absent. The page gives no positional accuracy or repeatability for the M-10040, no hopper size and no electrical supply figure, so those have to come from WARDJet's quotation. What is listed: a footprint of 42' 7" x 20.4' (13.0 m x 6.2 m), air at 80 psi, 2 cfm, and MOVE as the control software.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • 32' 8" (10.0 m) of Y travel and 13' 1" (4.0 m) of X travel
  • Up to 3 Z-carriages on a precision ground helical rack and pinion
  • Top speed of 1400 in/min (35.56 m/min) over a 10 m axis
  • MOVE control software with drag-and-drop part loading and part queueing
  • Mid-rail design gives access to material on all sides

Limitations

  • No positional accuracy or repeatability figure is published for this size
  • Top speed of 1400 in/min is below the 2000 in/min of the M-7540
  • Footprint of 42' 7" x 20.4' (13.0 m x 6.2 m)
  • Hopper capacity and electrical supply are not stated

Frequently Asked Questions

01 What are the travels of the M-10040?

X travel is 13' 1" (4.0 m), Y travel is 32' 8" (10.0 m) and Z travel is 1' (0.3 m). The footprint of the machine is 42' 7" x 20.4' (13.0 m x 6.2 m).

02 How fast is the M-10040?

The speed row reads 0.01 in/min – 1400in/min based on 230 volts, with a metric cell of 0.0254 cm/min - 35.56 m/min. That is lower than the 2000 in/min listed for the M-2540, M-5040 and M-7540.

03 What accuracy does the M-10040 hold?

WARDJet's page for the M-10040 does not list a positional accuracy or repeatability figure. The drive is a precision ground helical rack and pinion. The M-7540, the next size down, lists ±0.001" per axis (±0.0254 mm per axis) repeatability.

04 How many cutting heads does the M-10040 support?

A maximum of 3 Z-carriages. WARDJet states that the M-Series offers up to 3 head positions as standard using both 3-axis and 5-axis waterjet heads, and that it can customize the machine with more head positions if needed.
