Overview
WARDJet designed the Z-2546 around multi-head cutting, and the extra length over a standard table is there for a specific purpose: two cutting heads can be parked and the remaining head still reaches the full cutting envelope. The one-carriage cutting area is 8.2' x 15.1' (2.5 m x 4.6 m).
On most gantries a parked head costs travel, because the idle carriage occupies beam that the working head then cannot cross. Here the beam and frame are sized so that the parked positions lie outside the envelope. With two carriages working, the listed cutting area is 8.2' x 16.1' (2.5 m x 4.9 m). The gantry has positions for up to 7 Z-carriages in total.
WARDJet's suggested build is two standard cutting heads plus a 5-Axis Infini Winder head. That combination runs paired production cutting on flat parts, then parks both standard heads and uses the 5-axis head across the whole sheet for bevels or one-off shapes.
The motion system is ball screw driven in all axes, at ± 0.003" per axis (± 0.08 mm per axis) accuracy and ± 0.001" per axis (± 0.03 mm per axis) repeatability. Speed runs from 0.01 in/min to 500 in/min based on 230 volts. Footprint is 10.8' x 20.3' (3.28 m x 6.19 m), and abrasive is held in an 1100 lb pressurized hopper. Software is a choice of Ikuhlu, WARDCAM and IGEMS.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Two heads can be parked while a third still accesses the full cutting envelope
- 8.2' x 15.1' (2.5 m x 4.6 m) one-carriage cutting area, 8.2' x 16.1' (2.5 m x 4.9 m) with two
- Up to 7 Z-carriages on a ball screw gantry
- Suits a mix of standard heads and a 5-Axis Infini Winder head
- ± 0.003" per axis (± 0.08 mm per axis) positional accuracy
Limitations
- Footprint grows to 10.8' x 20.3' (3.28 m x 6.19 m) to make room for parked heads
- Top speed is limited to 500 in/min
- The 5-Axis head is WARDJet's suggested addition, not a listed standard item
- No Z-axis travel figure in the table

Frequently Asked Questions
01
To park heads. WARDJet states that the Z-2546 was designed with multiple head cutting in mind and that users are able to park two cutting heads and still access the full cutting envelope, which is 8.2' x 15.1' (2.5 m x 4.6 m) with one carriage.
02
Two standard cutting heads and a 5-Axis Infini Winder cutting head, which WARDJet says covers both production and versatility. The table allows up to 7 Z-carriages, so other arrangements are possible.
03
Linear positional accuracy is ± 0.003" per axis (± 0.08 mm per axis), repeatability is ± 0.001" per axis (± 0.03 mm per axis), and the speed range is 0.01 in/min - 500 in/min based on 230 volts. All axes are ball screw driven.
04
The bulk feed hopper is listed as 1100 lb pressurized. Running two or three heads together draws it down faster than single-head cutting, so plan refills around the number of heads in use.
