We do not have a price for the Vision Wide MS-3116 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
A torque enlarger unit sits on the X axis of the Vision Wide MS-3116. Vision Wide says it increases the transmission torque and ensures transmission accuracy, and names it together with the direct-driven X-Y transmission as the design feature of the MS line.
The X axis is the one that needs it. It moves the table and whatever is on it, here a 3,000x1,500 mm (118.1x59.1 in) table rated for 10,000 kg (22,046 lb), over 3,100 mm (122.0 in) of travel. Accelerating ten tonnes of part plus the table takes far more thrust than moving the saddle or the head, and a reduction stage between motor and screw multiplies the motor's torque to supply it. The X rapid on this model is 24 m/min.
The maker pairs that with what it calls a high stiffness light-weight table design, intended to keep acceleration and deceleration high when the table is loaded. Less table mass leaves more of the drive's thrust for the workpiece.
Y travel is 1,600 mm (63.0 in). The spindle is the 6,000rpm 2-step gear type with 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp), on a box way Z axis with 800 mm of travel. A 4,000rpm gear spindle is the low-speed option. The tool magazine is optional on this milling machine.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
A unit on the X-axis drive that, in the maker's words, increases the transmission torque and ensures transmission accuracy. The page gives no ratio or thrust figure for it.
02
10,000 kg (22,046 lb) on a 3,000x1,500 mm (118.1x59.1 in) table. X travel is 3,100 mm (122.0 in), slightly longer than the table.
03
24 m/min in X and Y and 15 m/min in Z, with a cutting feed range of 1-10,000 mm/min. The four-metre MS-4116 lists 18 m/min in X.
