Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Vision Wide MS-2616 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
Vision Wide describes the drive of the MS-2616 before anything else. The MS portal mills, it says, are designed with a direct-driven X-Y transmission device, which increases X-Y moving accuracy and combines speed with precision.
Direct drive here means the servo motor is coupled straight to the ball screw, with no belt or reduction between them. A belt stretches and a gear train has lash; taking both out removes two sources of error when the axis reverses, which is when a milled contour shows its flaws. The rapid figures are the same as on the linear-way machining centers of this size, 24 m/min in X and Y, with 15 m/min in Z.
The MS-2616 has 2,600 mm (102.4 in) of X travel and 1,600 mm (63.0 in) of Y. The table is 2,500x1,500 mm (98.4x59.1 in) and carries 9,000 kg (19,841 lb). Both travels are longer than the table, so the cutter can run off every edge.
Spindle power is 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp) through a 6,000rpm 2-step gear type spindle on a box way Z axis. The cutting feed range is 1-10,000 mm/min. As on the whole MS line, a tool magazine is an option; the standard accessory list does not include one.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
By a direct-driven X-Y transmission device, with a torque enlarger unit on the X axis, according to the maker's description of the MS series. Vision Wide says this increases X-Y moving accuracy.
02
2,500x1,500 mm (98.4x59.1 in) and 9,000 kg (19,841 lb). X travel is 2,600 mm (102.4 in) and Y travel 1,600 mm (63.0 in).
03
Rapid traverse is 24 m/min in X and Y and 15 m/min in Z. The cutting feed range is 1-10,000 mm/min, and the X and Y axes run on roller ways.
04
The two specification tables agree row for row. The MS-2616 is listed as a double column milling machine and its tool magazine is an option; the SF-2616 is a machining center with a 32 tools magazine as standard.
