Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Nicolas Correa FOX M that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Nicolas Correa FOX M takes the FOX bridge mill and moves the bridge instead of the table. The gantry travels along X in seven lengths, 5,000 / 6,500 / 8,000 / 9,500 / 11,000 / 12,500 / 14,000 mm, with further extension possible beyond the longest, and the workpiece never moves.
On the moving-table FOX, X ends at 8,000 mm and table load is a total of 15,000 - 25,000 kg. The FOX M rates its table per area, 10,000 - 15,000 kg/m2, because nothing has to be accelerated except the gantry. Heavy or awkwardly balanced parts are the reason to choose it.
Width follows the FOX pattern with one more step: Y travel is 3,000 - 3,750 - 4,250 - 5,000 mm for a distance between columns of 2,500 - 3,250 - 3,750 - 4,500 mm, over tables 1,750 / 2,500 / 3,000 / 3,500 mm wide. Z is 1,000 / 1,500 / 1,750 mm, which keeps this a machine for wide, fairly low work such as plates, dies and mould bases.
Nicolas Correa publishes the cross sections of the structure: the ram measures 540 mm x 550 mm and the columns 1100 mm x 1100 mm. The ram runs on a water-cooled friction guide, chosen for damping when the ram is extended, while X and Y use linear guides. Feed is 25 m/min in X and 30 m/min in Y and Z.
Spindle rows read 10,000 / 6,000 / 6,000 rpm, 42 / 37 / 52 kW and 620 / 1,300 / 1,375 Nm, on ISO-50 Big Plus or HSK-100. The automatic universal head is standard. A head-changer, tool magazines for 30, 40, 60 or 120 tools and zero-point clamping are options.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Moving gantry with X travel from 5,000 to 14,000 mm in seven lengths; the part stays still
- Y travel up to 5,000 mm with up to 4,500 mm between the columns
- Published structure sections: ram 540 mm x 550 mm, crossbeam 1030 mm x 1305 mm
- Water-cooled friction guide on the vertical axis for damping
- Three spindle options up to 52 kW and 1,375 Nm, or 10,000 rpm
Limitations
- Z travel is limited to 1,000 / 1,500 / 1,750 mm, so tall parts do not fit under the bridge
- X feed is 25 m/min, lower than the 30 m/min of the moving-table FOX
- Tool magazine, head-changer and full guarding are optional equipment
- Table width tops out at 3,500 mm even with 4,500 mm between columns

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The FOX is a bridge-type machine with a moving table and X travel of 3,000 - 8,000 mm. On the FOX M the bridge travels as a gantry over a fixed table, with X of 5,000 / 6,500 / 8,000 / 9,500 / 11,000 / 12,500 / 14,000 mm. The FOX M also adds a wider step, with 4,500 mm between columns.
02
The distance between columns is 2,500 - 3,250 - 3,750 - 4,500 mm, with matching Y travel of 3,000 - 3,750 - 4,250 - 5,000 mm. Table widths are 1,750 / 2,500 / 3,000 / 3,500 mm. The column gap is the hard limit; the Y figure shows how far the spindle reaches across it.
03
Linear guides in the X and Y axes and a friction guide at the Z axis are listed as standard equipment. The vertical axis friction guide is water-cooled, and the maker also describes a system of air recirculation through the ram to hold its geometry.
04
The table lists programmable speeds of 10,000 / 6,000 / 6,000 rpm, maximum power of 42 / 37 / 52 kW and maximum torque of 620 / 1,300 / 1,375 Nm. The taper is ISO-50 Big Plus or HSK-100. The three columns line up, so the 10,000 rpm option is the 42 kW, 620 Nm one.
