Vision Wide MF-4000 — price

Price estimate: uncertain

We have no price for the Vision Wide MF-4000 that we can cite and no estimate we can stand behind, so this page shows no number rather than a guess. A quote from Vision Wide or an authorised dealer is the reliable figure.

What moves the final price

  • Spindle, control and probing options
  • Tool changer capacity and tooling package
  • Automation — pallet changers, bar feeders, robot cells
  • Freight, rigging, installation and training
  • Region, dealer and time of year

Overview

The table of the Vision Wide MF-4000 is driven through a gear reducer. Vision Wide says the X-axis power transmission with gear reducer device gives the servo motor high precision control and raises the driving torque; the page prints the gain as a range of 2-4.

The reason is the load. This table is 4,200x2,050 mm (165.4x80.7 in), rated for 13,000 kg (28,660 lb), and it slides on box ways, which resist motion far more than rolling guides do. Starting it, stopping it and holding a steady feed under a heavy cut all take thrust. A reducer between motor and screw multiplies the motor's torque and lets a servo of sensible size keep control of the table at low feed, where a direct-coupled motor would be working near stall.

The cost is speed, and the table shows it. The X rapid is 10 m/min, against 12 m/min for Y and Z. For Y and Z the maker takes the opposite approach, a direct-driven transmission with large servo motors.

X travel is 4,200 mm (165.4 in) and Y travel 2,300 mm (90.6 in). The X screw is supported and all three screws are cooled. Spindle power is 18.5/22 kW (24.8/29.5 hp) through a 4,000 rpm gear spindle.

Strengths & Limitations

Strengths

  • X-axis gear reducer drive for higher table thrust
  • 4,200x2,050 mm (165.4x80.7 in) table for 13,000 kg (28,660 lb)
  • Direct-driven Y and Z axes with large servo motors
  • X-axis ball screw supporter and ball screw cooling are standard

Limitations

  • X rapid of 10 m/min, below the 12 m/min of Y and Z
  • The torque gain is given only as a range
  • Cutting feed of 1-7,000 mm/min

Frequently Asked Questions

01 How is the X axis driven on the Vision Wide MF-4000?

Through a gear reducer. Vision Wide says the X-axis power transmission with gear reducer device offers the servo motor high precision control and enhances the driving torque, giving a range of 2-4 for the gain.

02 What are the MF-4000 rapid traverse rates?

X is 10 m/min and Y and Z are 12 m/min. The shorter MF-3000 lists 12 m/min on all three axes. Cutting feed is 1-7,000 mm/min.

03 What does the MF-4000 table carry?

13,000 kg (28,660 lb) on a 4,200x2,050 mm (165.4x80.7 in) table. X travel is 4,200 mm (165.4 in) and Y travel 2,300 mm (90.6 in).

04 How are the Y and Z axes of the MF-4000 driven?

By a direct-driven device on the Y-Z axis transmission with big servo motors, which the maker says ensures the best accuracy and acceleration.
