Overview
The Vision Wide ASM-1012 is a five-axis universal machining center built around a round table and a 45° universal head. The table is Ø1,000 mm (Ø39.4 in) and carries 2,000 kg (4,409 lb) in its central area; travels are 1,000 mm (39.4 in) in X, 1,260 mm (49.6 in) in Y and 1,050 mm (41.3 in) in Z.
Vision Wide calls the ASM its first 5-axis CNC turning and milling machining center and names aerospace components, tire molds, turbine blades and aluminum parts as the target work. The head and the rotary shafts use built-in D.D motors. The maker also says topology analysis was used to set the distance between the tool center point and the B-axis transmission; a short distance there keeps the linear axes from having to make large moves each time the head tilts.
