How much does the TRAK TMC10 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the TRAK TMC10 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The TRAK TMC10 puts 40.75 in (1,035 mm) of X travel on a toolroom machining center, with 20 in (508 mm) each of Y and Z and a 44.09 x 19.69 in (1,120 x 500 mm) table. The control is the ProtoTRAK RMX CNC and the spindle is 40 Taper.
X is about twice Y, and that proportion defines the machine. It suits long parts, bar and extrusion work, or a line of vises along the table. The TMC7 offers 30 in (762 mm) of X on a table of the same 19.69 in depth, so moving to the TMC10 lengthens the machine without deepening it. Table load rises too, to 1,760 lbs (798 kg) from 1,320 lbs (599 kg) on the TMC7.
This is the longest TMC that keeps the lighter spindle. Power is 15 hp (11.2 kW) peak / 10 hp (7.5 kW) continuous, with 50 - 8,000 rpm standard and 12,000 rpm optional. The TMC12 moves to 22.5 hp (16.8 kW) peak and to a much heavier machine, 14,300 lbs net (6,486 kg) against 9,900 lbs net (4,491 kg) here. A shop that needs the length but not the power or the Y saves floor loading and current by staying with the TMC10.
The 16-tool carousel handles CAT 40 or BT 40 holders, tools to 3.14 in (80 mm) in diameter and 15 lbs (7 kg) including holder. Rapid traverse is 400 ipm (10.2 m/min) in Toolroom Ops and 1,000 ipm (25.4 m/min) in Production Ops. At the higher rate a full X stroke is a short move; at the lower one, long repositioning moves add up.
TRAK lists a footprint of 111 x 135 in (2,819 x 3,429 mm) with coolant tank, auger and pendant rotated, and 208V three-phase at 52.4 A for the standard spindle.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 40.75 in (1,035 mm) of X travel on a 44.09 x 19.69 in (1,120 x 500 mm) table
- 1,760 lbs (798 kg) table load, against 1,320 lbs (599 kg) on the TMC7
- Draws 52.4 A at 208V with the standard spindle, where the TMC12 needs 77.5 A
- 9,900 lbs net (4,491 kg), far lighter than the TMC12 at 14,300 lbs net (6,486 kg)
- 1,000 ipm (25.4 m/min) rapids in Production Ops over the long X axis
Limitations
- Y and Z stay at 20 in (508 mm); the TMC12 has 27 in (686 mm) of Y and 25 in (635 mm) of Z
- Spindle power is 15 hp (11.2 kW) peak / 10 hp (7.5 kW) continuous, no more than the TMC5
- A 16-tool carousel serves a 44.09 in long table, so multi-part setups can run short of pockets
- In Toolroom Ops rapids are 400 ipm (10.2 m/min)
- Maximum spindle nose to table distance is 23.50 in (597 mm)
