Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Thielenhaus BearingStar 650 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Thielenhaus BearingStar 650 is the largest ring machine in the BearingStar range. Outer rings run from 200 – 650 mm (7.9 – 25.6 in) outside diameter, inner rings from 180 – 580 mm (7.1 – 22.8 in) inner diameter, and ring width from 20 – 300 mm (0.79 – 11.8 in). It has 1 machining station.
Large rings turn slowly. The workpiece spindle is rated at max. 1,000 rpm, a third of the 3,000 rpm listed for the BearingStar 320, while stone contact pressure is max. 360 N. Oscillation is the same as on the smaller sizes, at 0 – 1,200 double strokes/min with ±0 – 18° of angle or a 0 – 6 mm (0 – 0.24 in) linear stroke.
The ring type list is the longest in the range. Cylindrical and tapered roller bearings are named in 1- or 2-row form, alongside the ball bearing types and spherical roller bearings. For roller tracks Thielenhaus describes Microfinish of crowned or logarithmic roller tracks with vertical adjustment of the honing stone, which it says allows increased overall speed and a reduction in machining time.
Beyond the raceway the machine covers board Microfinish, and outer diameter polishing with a belt unit is an option. Pre- and final machining are done by changing the cutting speed, stone contact pressure and oscillation, and 1- or 2-step machining is listed although there is a single station. Ask Thielenhaus about loading at this size: the technical data say nothing about handling, weight or floor space.

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Outer ring outside diameter goes to 650 mm (25.6 in), inner ring inner diameter to 580 mm (22.8 in) and ring width to 300 mm (11.8 in). The outside diameter range starts where the BearingStar 200 ends, so it overlaps most of the range of the BearingStar 320.
02
The table gives max. 1,000 rpm. The BearingStar 320 and BearingStar 200 are both listed at 0 – 3,000 rpm, so the lower speed here reflects ring diameter. Oscillation frequency is still 0 – 1,200 double strokes/min.
03
Yes. Thielenhaus lists Microfinish of crowned or logarithmic roller tracks with vertical adjustment of the honing stone, and states that this allows increased overall speed and a reduction in machining time. The product page also names spherical and logarithmic raceways for the 650 series.
04
The machining solutions list board Microfinish and, as an option, outer diameter polishing with belt unit. Outer or inner rings can be machined, in 1- or 2-step machining on the single station, with stone contact pressure up to max. 360 N.
