Overview
The MCH630i is the small horizontal in the ZPS range: a twin-pallet machining centre with 630 × 630 mm pallets, travels of 750 x 700 x 770 mm (29.5 x 27.6 x 30.3 in) and a pallet load of 800 kg including the clamping fixture. The column moves in X, the spindle head in Y, and the rotary table carries the work in Z and turns it through 360° on the B axis.
It is a distinctly lighter machine than its two larger siblings, and that shows in every row. Axial forces are 15 kN in X, 8 kN in Y and 10 kN in Z, where the MCH800i lists 20 kN, 10.5 kN and 20 kN. It weighs 17,000 kg, where the MCH800i weighs 31,000 kg. In return it is quicker around the pallet: the pallet change takes 10 s, half the 20 s of the MCH800i, and the whole layout fits in 5,800 × 3,140 × 3,260 mm.
Linear axes run at 50 m/min in both rapid traverse and working feed, with 5 m/s2 of acceleration. The B axis is driven through a worm gear as standard at up to 8 rpm with 2,160 Nm; the optional torque motor turns at 38 rpm with 1,310 Nm, so on this size the faster table has less torque. Positioning error to ISO 230-2 is 0.008 mm on the linear axes and 6 arc sec on B.
A 60-tool cassette magazine is standard, with 80, 100 and 120 tools optional. Tools can be 450 mm long and 25 kg in the 50-size tapers. Tool change is 3.5 s tool to tool; the high-speed change listed for the larger models is not offered here.
The brochure covers the MCH630i, 800i and 1000i together and lists six spindle units for the range, from ISO 50 at 8,000 rpm with 20 / 30 kW and 306 / 458 Nm to an HSK-A63 unit at 18,000 rpm. Confirm with the maker which of them are offered on this size.

10 s. The automatic pallet changer holds two pallets and transfers them by a hydraulic turntable, so one workpiece can be clamped, unclamped or measured in the clamping station while the other is machined. The pallet is held on the rotary table by four hydraulic clamps.

The standard rotary table uses a worm gear: 8 rpm maximum speed and 2,160 Nm maximum torque. The optional torque motor raises speed to 38 rpm with 1,310 Nm. Rotary table locking torque is 4,000 Nm. B-axis positioning error is 6 arc sec and repeatability 3 arc sec.

The range brochure lists ISO 50 units at 8,000 rpm (20 / 30 kW or 28 / 43 kW) and 4,500 rpm (17 / 25 kW or 33 / 46 kW), an HSK-A63 unit at 18,000 rpm and an HSK-A100 unit at 14,000 rpm. All spindle units have a rotary supply for coolant or air through the spindle axis. The list is not broken down by model.
