How much does the Tajmac-ZPS MANURHIN K'MX 1032 cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Tajmac-ZPS MANURHIN K'MX 1032 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
At the top of the range sits the MANURHIN K'MX 1032, a ten-axis Swiss-type lathe for Ø 32 mm (1.3 in) bar that the maker's product page also names SWING. Ten controlled linear axes move six slides, two rotary axes (C1, C2) index the spindles, and up to four tools machine simultaneously. Programming runs in 3 channels.
The figures that define it are about tool count. Two racks near the guide bush hold (2 x 5) : 10 OD tools on 16 x 16 mm shanks. An end-working rack on Y3 and Z3 holds 6 tools. The counter spindle has a Y4 axis in addition to its Z2 stroke of 260 mm, so back-working tools are reached by moving the part, not by waiting for a slide. As an option the maker fits up to 17 driven tools on four independent tool racks. Live tools are quoted at 2,3 kW with 32 Nm through a gearbox.
Spindle hardware follows the larger 32 mm machines. The main electrospindle has 15 / 25 kW (100% / 25%) and 8,000 rpm, clamped by a pneumatic cylinder, on linear guides with rollers. The counter spindle reaches 10,000 rpm on 3.7 / 5.5 kW (100% / 30 min). Most rapid feeds are 30 m/min; Y3 and Y4 are 24 m/min.
A Ø 37 mm bore means 32 mm bar needs no end preparation, and with the bar end adjusted the machine handles up to 36 mm. The headstock stroke of 410 mm turns 400 mm in one stroke. Parts up to 200 mm eject from the front, a little more than on the other 32 mm models.
It is also the largest K'MX: 3,050 × 1,460 × 2,020 mm, 4,950 kg and a 42 kVA supply. The pneumatics need 6 bars, and the maker notes a one-time air flow of 350 l/min for blasting the counter spindle collet.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Ten controlled linear axes on six movable slides, with up to four tools cutting simultaneously
- Counter spindle with Y4 axis and 10,000 rpm
- Up to 17 driven tools on four independent tool racks as an option
- 15 / 25 kW (20.1 / 33.5 hp) main electrospindle with pneumatic cylinder clamping
- Three programming channels
- Front ejection of parts up to 200 mm (7.9 in)
Limitations
- Heaviest and tallest K'MX: 4,950 kg (10,913 lb) and 2,020 mm high, with a 42 kVA supply
- Driven tools are optional equipment
- Y3 and Y4 rapid feeds are 24 m/min, slower than the 30 m/min of the other axes
- Three-channel programming of ten axes asks more of the programmer than the two-rack machines

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Ten controlled linear axes for six movable slides, plus two rotary axes, C1 and C2. The brochure's rapid-feed table names Z1, X1, X2, Y1, Y2, Y3, Z3, Z2 and Y4, and its kinematics drawing also shows X4. The machine is programmed in 3 channels.
02
The table lists (2 x 5) : 10 OD tools near the guide bush on two racks and 6 tools on the end-working rack. Optionally the machine can be equipped with up to 17 driven tools on four independent tool racks. The maker's product page speaks of up to 25 tools, including 17 powered tools.
03
It moves on two axes. Besides the Z2 stroke of 260 mm (10.2 in) it has a Y4 axis with a 24 m/min rapid feed, so the part can be presented to different back-working tools. It runs to 10,000 rpm on 3.7 / 5.5 kW (100% / 30 min) and holds 160 mm of part inside the spindle.
04
The brochure lists a FANUC CNC with 3 programming channels, and the product page says the machine is controlled by Fanuc 31i. Tool changes use a tool holder cartridge system that the maker describes as quick and compatible across holders.
05
A 3 x 400 V – 50 Hz supply with 42 kVA of power, compressed air at 6 bar with a one-time flow of 350 l/min for blasting the counter spindle collet, and room for a machine of 3,050 × 1,460 × 2,020 mm weighing 4,950 kg plus its bar loader. The coolant tank holds 300 l.
