Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Spinner TTS85 that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Spinner TTS85 is the first of the two large TTS machines: a multi-turret lathe with an 85 mm (3.3 in) bar capacity, a 585 mm (23.0 in) maximum turning diameter and a spindle distance of 1,500 mm (59.1 in). It can be built with 2 - 4 turrets in the versions Spinner calls Duplex, Twin, Triplex and Quadrex.
Two diameter figures appear in the table and they mean different things. 585 mm (23.0 in) is the maximum turning diameter. The maximum chuck part diameter is given as approx. 300 mm (11.8 in), roughly half of that, and it is the figure to plan chuck work around. If the parts are larger, look at the TTS125, which lists the same turning diameter with a chuck part diameter of approx. 500 mm (19.7 in) and a 125 mm (4.9 in) bar capacity.
Y travel is 200 mm (7.9 in), and up to two Y axes with a ±100 mm stroke are listed. That is more than double the 90 mm (3.5 in) of the TTS65, and with 310 mm (12.2 in) of X travel it gives milling tools real reach across the face of a part. Tooling is BMT45 or BMT65.
The second end takes a CNC tailstock or a sub-spindle. With 1,500 mm (59.1 in) listed as the spindle distance this is a long machine, but Spinner's table gives no maximum turning length, so ask what length can be turned between the chuck and the tailstock. Robobox XL is the automation listed and the control is Siemens or Fanuc.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- Turret row of 2 - 4, in Duplex, Twin, Triplex or Quadrex versions
- 200 mm (7.9 in) of Y travel, with up to two Y axes of ±100 mm stroke
- 85 mm (3.3 in) bar capacity with a 585 mm (23.0 in) maximum turning diameter
- BMT45 or BMT65 tooling and 310 mm (12.2 in) of X travel
- Spindle distance of 1,500 mm (59.1 in), with a CNC tailstock or sub-spindle at the second end
Limitations
- Maximum chuck part diameter is approx. 300 mm (11.8 in), well under the 585 mm (23.0 in) turning diameter; the TTS125 lists approx. 500 mm (19.7 in)
- Bar capacity is 85 mm (3.3 in), against 125 mm (4.9 in) on the TTS125
- No maximum turning length, spindle speed or spindle power is stated on Spinner's page for the TTS85
- Tailstock and sub-spindle are alternatives, and the number of turrets and Y axes depends on the version ordered

Frequently Asked Questions
01
The table lists 2 - 4 turrets, under the version names Duplex, Twin, Triplex and Quadrex. Up to two Y axes are listed with them. Which turrets carry a Y axis in each version is not stated, so settle the configuration with Spinner against the operations your parts need to run at the same time.
02
Spinner gives the maximum chuck part diameter as approx. 300 mm (11.8 in). The maximum turning diameter of 585 mm (23.0 in) is a separate and larger figure, so do not size chuck work from it. Bar capacity is 85 mm (3.3 in).
03
200 mm (7.9 in), stated as a ±100 mm stroke, and up to two Y axes can be fitted. X travel is 310 mm (12.2 in). The table gives no driven-tool speed or power, so ask for those figures before planning milling work.
04
Two rows differ. The TTS85 has an 85 mm (3.3 in) bar capacity and a maximum chuck part diameter of approx. 300 mm (11.8 in). The TTS125 has 125 mm (4.9 in) and approx. 500 mm (19.7 in). Both list a 585 mm (23.0 in) maximum turning diameter.
05
BMT45 or BMT65. The table does not say whether the choice applies to the whole machine or turret by turret, so confirm it when the turret configuration is fixed. The control is Siemens or Fanuc and the automation listed is Robobox XL.
