Overview

The Mazak INTEGREX e-H series is a line of large horizontal multi-tasking machines that combine a turning spindle with a B-axis milling spindle and an automatic tool changer. Mazak lists five models, the INTEGREX e-500H, e-500H-S, e-670H, e-670H-S and e-800H; the two -S models have a second spindle.

The milling side is the same on every model: a CAT50 spindle at 10,000 rpm with 30 kW (40 HP) continuous and 191 Nm (141 ft-lb) continuous, rising to 37 kW (50 HP) and 260 Nm (192 ft-lb) at 40% ED. The B-axis indexes in 0.0001° increments, so one tool can be used vertically, horizontally or at any angle between. The magazine holds 40 tools of up to 66 lb (30 kg).

The turning side scales steeply. The INTEGREX e-500H turns at up to 3,300 rpm with 22 kW (30 HP) continuous, has 34 in (864 mm) of X, 20 in (508 mm) of Y and 63 in (1,600 mm) of Z, and weighs 49,824 lb (22,600 kg). The INTEGREX e-670H turns at 1,600 rpm with 37 kW (50 HP) continuous and grows to 40 in (1,016 mm), 26 in (660 mm) and 123 in (3,124 mm), at 68,342 lb (30,999 kg). Long parts need support and reach. The tailstock rows list MT No.5, MT No.6 or a No.100 metric center, with thrust from 3,372 lb (1,530 kg) to 16,860 lb (7,648 kg). For deep inner diameters Mazak offers a long boring bar system whose tool head is changed automatically. Bars are kept in a dedicated stocker that holds 2 on the e-500H, 3 on the e-670H and 4 on the e-800H.

The control is the MAZATROL SmoothAi. To narrow the series, match Z travel to the length of the part, then decide between a tailstock and a second spindle for work on the far end.
