Overview
A shaft 1,200 mm (47 in) in diameter can pass over the cross slide of the ROMI C 1600H. That clearance, together with 1,600 mm (63 in) of swing over the bed, is what this heavy-duty CNC lathe adds to the 800 mm (31 in) bed and 114 hp / 84 kW drive it shares with its lower-centred sibling.
Romi names one tooling option for this model alone: a 12-station horizontal electrical turret with a VDI-60 disk for driven tools, rated 10 hp (7.5 kW) at up to 2,500 rpm. Combined with the optional C axis it lets bolt holes, keyways and flats be machined on a large flange or roll journal while the part is still between centers. Tool holders and reduction sleeves are not part of the turret.
