How much does the Quicktech T8-M / T6-M cost?
Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Quicktech T8-M / T6-M that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
The Quicktech T8-M / T6-M is a compact single-spindle turret lathe with C axis: a 45° slant bed, 400 mm (15.7 in) of swing over the bed and a BMT-55 power turret with 12 stations. The maker prints two spindle sizes in one column, so bar capacity reads 65 mm / 42 mm (2.6 in / 1.7 in) and the spindle bore 66 mm / 43 mm (2.6 in / 1.7 in).
M stands for the milling version. Its table has the C-axis rows that the plain turning column lacks, with a least command unit of 0.001° and a positioning accuracy of 0.02°, and Quicktech's text says that with available live tooling and C-axis capability, milling and turning can be completed in one machine. Cross-holes, flats and face drilling patterns are the work this adds. Without a Y axis, flats are cut by interpolating C and X, which is fine for wrench flats and less so for wide, accurate keyways.
The envelope is that of a chucker. Maximum turning diameter is 200 mm (7.9 in), swing over the cross slide 230 mm (9.1 in) and maximum turning length 100 mm (3.9 in), on X1/Z1 travel of 200 mm / 320 mm (7.9 in / 12.6 in). Short Z keeps the machine short as well: 2,450 mm without the chip conveyor.
The motor row gives a servo spindle of 11 kW (14.8 hp) for the larger size and 7.5 kW (10.1 hp) for the smaller, with 11 kW (14.8 hp) optional there. Speeds in the maker's feature list are 3,000 rpm (4,000 rpm) / 4,000 rpm (6,000 rpm). Axes run on 35 mm (1.4 in) linear guide ways with Ø32 x P10 ball screws at a rapid feed of 30 m/min (1,181 ipm). A Mitsubishi M80 is the control.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- C axis with 0.001° least command unit and 0.02° positioning accuracy for live-tool work
- BMT-55 power turret with 12 stations
- Choice of spindle size: 65 mm / 42 mm (2.6 in / 1.7 in) bar capacity
- Repetition accuracy of 0.005 mm (0.0002 in)
- Light and compact at 3,500 kg (7,716 lb)
Limitations
- No Y axis, so off-centre milling relies on C-axis interpolation
- No sub-spindle in this column; the T8-T / T6-T is the version with one
- Maximum turning length of 100 mm (3.9 in)
- Coolant tank of 125 L and no high-pressure pump listed

Frequently Asked Questions
01
It is the version with C axis for milling work. The table lists a BMT-55 power turret with 12 tools and C-axis figures of 0.001° least command unit and 0.02° positioning accuracy. Quicktech's page says that with available live tooling and C-axis capabilities, milling and turning applications can be completed in one single machine.
02
The T8-C / T6-C column has no C-axis rows and lists a High Speed Servo Turret (BMT-55 Turret) in place of the power turret. The T8-C / T6-C also lists a maximum turning length of 300 mm (11.8 in), against 100 mm (3.9 in) in this column. Swing, bar capacity, travels and weight are the same.
03
The row reads 65 mm / 42 mm (2.6 in / 1.7 in), matching the two spindle sizes in the column heading. The chuck types are KK6-185E60B / KK5-173E42B, the spindle noses A2-6 / A2-5 and the bores 66 mm / 43 mm (2.6 in / 1.7 in).
04
Length is listed as 2,450 mm / 3,550 mm (96.5 in / 139.8 in) without and with the chip conveyor. Width and height are 1,300 / 1,880 mm (51.2 / 74.0 in), and the weight is 3,500 kg (7,716 lb).
