Quicktech T8-C / T6-C

Plain two-axis turning is what the Quicktech T8-C / T6-C is for. It is the basic column of the maker's compact turret-lathe table: no C axis, no sub-spindle, and a High Speed Servo Turret (BMT-55 Turret) with 12 stations where the other two columns list a power turret. In return it has the longest turning length of the three, 300 mm (11.8 in).

That figure changes what the machine can take. The T8-M / T6-M and the T8-T / T6-T both list 100 mm (3.9 in), which confines them to short chucked parts. Here the full Z stroke is open for turning, since X1/Z1 travel is 200 mm / 320 mm (7.9 in / 12.6 in). Quicktech's feature list mentions a hydraulic tailstock or sub spindle for long work pieces; no tailstock row appears in the table, so ask whether it is included.

Size and structure are shared with the other columns. The bed slants at 45°, swing over the bed is 400 mm (15.7 in) and maximum turning diameter 200 mm (7.9 in). Two spindle sizes share the column: bar capacity is 65 mm / 42 mm (2.6 in / 1.7 in) on A2-6 / A2-5 noses. The servo spindle is 11 kW (14.8 hp) on the larger size and 7.5 kW (10.1 hp) on the smaller, with 11 kW (14.8 hp) as an option, and the feature list gives speeds of 3,000 rpm (4,000 rpm) / 4,000 rpm (6,000 rpm).

With only X and Z to drive, the axis motors are both 1.5 kW. Rapid feed is 30 m/min (1,181 ipm), repetition accuracy 0.005 mm (0.0002 in). The machine weighs 3,500 kg (7,716 lb), stands 1,860 mm high and is controlled by a Mitsubishi M80.
