Price estimate
We do not have a price for the Quicktech i-60 Ultimate that we can stand behind, so we show no number. Configuration, options and installation move the final price a long way: a quote is the reliable figure.
Overview
A 65 mm (2.6 in) bar through an A2-6 spindle nose is the reason to pick the Quicktech i-60 Ultimate. It is the large-bore member of the maker's twin-spindle gang-tooling family, built on the layout of the i-42 Ultimate, where that bar size is an option rather than the standard fit. The spindle bore is 66 mm (2.6 in) and the collet chuck is the KK6-185E60B.
Speed is the price of the bigger spindle. The main spindle tops out at 4,000 rpm and the table shows no faster option, whereas the i-42 Ultimate lists 6,000 rpm as an option. Power is the same 11.0 kW (14.8 hp) servo spindle. For larger-diameter bar that is rarely a handicap, since surface speed arrives at lower rpm, but small features turned at the centre of a big bar will run slower than they would on the smaller machine.
The rest follows the Ultimate pattern. Quicktech describes the designation as 10 axis and 4 spindles, including a sub-spindle with both X and Z positioning. Travels are 150 / 410 / 250 mm (5.9 / 16.1 / 9.8 in) on X1/Y1/Z1 and 450 / 380 / 300 mm (17.7 / 15.0 / 11.8 in) on X2/Y2/Z2, with rapid feed of 30 m/min (1,181 ipm). The sub-spindle stays small: 30 mm (1.2 in) bar, a 31 mm (1.2 in) bore, an A2-5 nose and 3.7 kW (5.0 hp).
Tooling is listed as 6 / 5 OD/ID tools on the main spindle and 5 / 9 on the sub-spindle, with motorized tools of T1=12 / T2=12 on ER-20 collets at 4,000 rpm. The control is a Mitsubishi M830S. With the 240 L coolant tank the machine weighs 5,600 kg (12,346 lb). The maker's table for this model has no C-axis or B-axis rows, so ask Quicktech to confirm those figures.

Strengths & Limitations
Strengths
- 65 mm (2.6 in) bar capacity as standard, with a 66 mm (2.6 in) spindle bore and an A2-6 nose
- Sub-spindle with X and Z positioning, as the maker describes the 10 axis, 4 spindle designation
- OD/ID tools of 6 / 5 on the main spindle and 5 / 9 on the sub-spindle, plus T1=12 / T2=12 motorized tools
- 25 bar, 30 L/min high-pressure pump in the coolant system, with a 240 L tank
Limitations
- Main and sub-spindle are both limited to 4,000 rpm, with no faster option in the table
- The sub-spindle takes only 30 mm (1.2 in) bar, less than half the main spindle's 65 mm (2.6 in)
- Maximum turning diameter is 100 mm (3.9 in), so the machine is for bar work and not for chucking larger blanks
- Live-tool drilling stops at 12.0 mm (0.5 in) and tapping at M10xP1.5

Frequently Asked Questions
01
Spindle size. The i-60 Ultimate takes 65 mm (2.6 in) bar as standard through a 66 mm (2.6 in) bore and an A2-6 nose, and its spindles run to 4,000 rpm. The i-42 Ultimate is a 42 mm (1.7 in) machine on which 65 mm (2.6 in) and 6,000 rpm are listed as options. Travels, spindle power and weight are the same in both tables.
02
Maximum turning length is 230 mm (9.1 in) on the main spindle and 100 mm (3.9 in) on the sub-spindle. Maximum turning diameter is 100 mm (3.9 in) on both. Z1 travel is the last figure of the 150 / 410 / 250 mm (5.9 / 16.1 / 9.8 in) row.
03
The table lists OD/ID tools as 6 / 5 for the main spindle and 5 / 9 for the sub-spindle, on □ 20 mm shanks with ER-20 / Ø20 mm drill holders. Motorized tools are given as T1=12 / T2=12, with ER-20 collets and a maximum speed of 4,000 rpm.
04
The control is a Mitsubishi M830S. The coolant system lists a TPH4T5K pump at 5 bar, 75 L/min, a second pump row of 2 HP + SF-30C at 25 bar, 30 L/min, and a 240 L tank. Hydraulic pressure and flow are 30 kg/cm² / 12 L/min.
