Overview
The Prima Power Shear Genius 1530 (SG1530) is a servo-electric turret punch press with an integrated right angle shear and automatic loading equipment. It takes sheet up to 3,074 mm x 1,565 mm (121.0 x 61.6 in) and turns it into finished rectangular parts: loaded, punched, formed, sheared and sorted in one process.
The thickness rows matter more here than on a plain punch press, because the shear has its own limits. Punching goes to 8 mm (0.31 in). Shearing is limited to 5 mm (0.20 in) in aluminium, 4 mm (0.16 in) in mild steel and 3 mm (0.12 in) in stainless steel. A part thicker than the shear limit can be punched but has to be separated another way.
Two performance levels are offered. SG Pure has a ram force of 250 kN (25 US Tons), a positioning speed of 127 m/min and an index tool rotation speed of 180 rpm. SG Dynamic has 300 kN (33 US Tons), 150 m/min and 250 rpm. Maximum hit speed is printed as 700 1/min for Pure and 1000 1/min for Dynamic.
The turret is customized, with a maximum of 400 tools and 384 index tools. Raw material is loaded with sheet edge measurement, and a trim strip destroyer keeps continuous production moving. Energy use is managed in three power modes: run, stand by and idle. Options can be installed later as upgrades, so equipment can be added after installation.
