Overview
The Pinnacle LH500B is the twin-pallet version of Pinnacle's 500 mm horizontal machining center. The table row reads 500 x 500 mm (19.7 x 19.7 in) x2, the pallet changer is a swing type, and Pinnacle states that a pallet change is completed in only 8 seconds.
Two pallets change how the machine is used. One part is cut while the other is unloaded and reloaded outside the work area, so the spindle keeps running through the shift. Pinnacle says the pallets locate on oversized cones for positioning accuracy.
The B-axis table differs from the LH500A as well. Indexing is listed as 0.001° (1°), the fine increment being the standard on this model, and the table is locked by a hydraulic-expansion circular mechanism that clamps around the full circumference. Table speed is 16.6 rpm.
Cutting hardware is shared between the two LH models: 650 mm (25.6 in) of X, 560 mm (22.0 in) of Y and Z, an ISO40 belt spindle at 8,000 rpm with 11/15 kW (14.8/20.1 hp), a 40-tool chain magazine and 30/24/30 m/min rapids.
