Overview
The Palmary OIG-200 is a CNC internal grinder with one wheel spindle, for bores up to Ø150 mm (5.9 in) in parts up to 200 mm (7.9 in) long held in a chuck of up to Ø200 mm (7.9 in). It is the base model of the OIG-200 family.
The wheel spindle is a Ø90 mm (3.5 in) cartridge running at 10,000 to 50,000 rpm on a 1.5 kW (2.0 hp) motor, belt driven with automatic belt tension adjustment according to the accessory list. That speed range fits small to medium bores; a spare spindle is an option for shops that switch between sizes.
Both axes are generous for a chucker. X and Z each travel 480 mm (18.9 in) on roller type linear guideways, with 1.8 kW (2.4 hp) servo motors, and the feed axis carries an optical scale. Palmary says the machine can grind an internal hole, an end face and an outer diameter in one setting, which the long X travel makes room for.
What sets the OIG-200 apart from its longer siblings is the workhead. It swivels from +7° to -8°, so tapered bores are ground by angling the part, whereas the OIG-200L35 and OIG-200L50 are limited to +1° to -1°. Work spindle speed is listed as 0 to 500 or 0 to 800 rpm with a 0.75 kW (1.0 hp) motor, and the spindle carries 50 kg (110 lb). A FANUC CNC controller and full enclosure are standard.
